Why a Civic SI shouldn't F*** with us... not a racing story.

SO this is the skinny... i live in a nice little neighborhood with about 75 houses and the street is shaped like an oval. I noticed a black 07 SI sedan parked around with a giant no-name exhaust on it and had to laugh. My buddy (who owns one in the same color) was witness to this weirdo cruising around the street in first gear going... vrooooooom, vrugh... vroooooom, vrugh.... you know what I mean. All I heard was a rat farting in a tin can and a whiny no-balls engine. I mean, this exhaust is straight off Ebay, and he now thinks he has a fast car. (Just for the record, the 1/4 times on the new SI's are at or around 15.5.... confirmed by my friends 3 runs all SLOWER than this). I always get the ricer eyeball when I am washing the car, or when I pull in or out of my garage. Now for the good part...

Yesterday, I was flying out with my GF and had to drop her truck off @ her parents. As we pull out of the garage, I see this douche parking his SI and his GF/WIFE's Fit on the main street outside the neighborhood. There are bike lanes on both sides of this street and it isn't brain surgery to figure out that there is no parking here. I have seen a number of cars sitting out there and it is a pain in the ass to pull out since there is a slight bend on the road that obscures traffic. As we leave he is staring me down, so I leave about 200 feet of rubber on the road for him to ponder with the whoosh of two blow-off shifts... and I am still within legal speeds (45 MPH). I pulled onto the main road a little further up only to see this black SI weaving in and out of traffic to catch up to me. He rides my ass for a block, the whole time leaning his white-gangsta self towards his pleasantly plump female (who was eating something the whole time... go figure). We neared the next intersection and he pulls into the right turn lane and starts revving his tiny little iVTEC next to me... which I returned with a stern shake of the head and a mouthing of the words.."YOU'RE TOO SLOW". I heard him chirp the tires on the turn and forgot about him promptly.

WHEN I GOT BACK HOME...

His horribly ugly Fit was just being towed away.

HAHAHAHA! Karma gods got you.

Poor kid spent the same money on his car as my Speed and got nothing half the car.. plus a hefty towing bill.

Maybe next time he'll learn to pay his Karma up front before he stares me down.

the SPEED is no more...

This is where all the honda guys come in and tell you that the Si may not be as fast but it is more fun to drive than the MS3.

Glad that guy got what he deserves.

I happen to be a salesmen for Honda and I do get the super civic fan boys alot. I always tell em it's a great car that handles like a champ and the best bang for the buck. It's pretty hard to hold a striaght face when I tell em that, but it really doesn't matter because they're so in love with the car that they don't realize that there are way better cars out there for their money.

that guy gives anything a bad name but not surprising that he should gravitate towards a honda. popular cars = more people buying it and of course more fools buying it

Civics still try to race me in the snow while I'm cruising in my truck. Sorry son, 4x4 owns you.

I think the SI-is a great car but years behind the Speed. Most of the kids who driving those cars dont know to much about cars. Or know a lot but cant afford the Speed. But one thing for sure.If I would own an SI-I would never try to race a Speed or revving up my engine next to it at the traffic light. But not to many people knows about the Speed. When I pass some one on the street,I see them checking up the car and have no clue what kind of car is it.I love it.

SIs are fun. I test drove one a month ago during my test-drive showdown, haha.

They are nimble, and seem to rev forever. They feel refined and tight, but still light and not as SOLID feeling as a MS3. When you're in the 'zone' they are punchy and fun. But while the nuts are hugged in tighty whiteys, the mazdaspeeds rolling commando, balls hanging out...

Oh and the seats... They are thick, stiff and perfect. I loved the SIs seats! The shifter is fun too. :P Ok, I'm done.

Wait, no I'm not...

You can Supercharge and tune a K20 and have a VERY fast car... like... "What's an MS3?"-fast! Sick.

But I'm tired of superchargers for the moment and want my exhaust driven boost
