Second hands and salesrecords US

Here (The Netherlands) you have several websites where you can search for second hand cars with all the info and good pictures. Are there any good websites for that same purpose in the US? And aren't there any salesrecords of ALL cars? I once knew a website that made lists of the best sold cars in the US but only in segments and that website is off the air...

yes, autotrader.com, cars.com, autobytel.com...but most or all of these sites may not provide accurate or complete histories of the car.
in the US, as MZ6ZoomZoom said, most prudent shoppers will go to carfax.com to obtain vehicle histories...many buyers have caught dishonest sellers trying to roll back mileage or hiding a salvage title...

if you know somebody with a carfax account, they can run the VIN for you for nothing.

Re: Second hands and salesrecords US

Sorry, I didn't ment all history things about a second hand car I mean that you can search for brand, car, engine, price, options etc. Thanks for the links so far. I will check them out

Re: Second hands and salesrecords US

If you need the specific history of a vehicle, you need to use a service such as CARFAX. This is the only company that I'm aware of that lets you search by a specific vehicle identification number (VIN) to learn who has owned the vehicle and also learn about specific actions taken by the car from lenders, insurance agencies, or the government.

If you want to know the sales performance history from the last decade of the major OEMs, you'll need access to the likes of Automotive News or WardsAuto.... and that'll cost a lot of money. If you just need the results of a month in time, you should be able to find old press releases and whatnot through a Google Search.
