Well... having my shoulder scoped for the 2nd time *UPDATED 01-08-08

Arm got caught in between two defenders and when I was going up for a lay-up. Probably made it worse by playing tennis the next day (couldn't play very long)

At the moment MRI is suggesting a tear on my posterior labrum, bicep tendon looks to have taken a beating too.

It's great, I get to start the new year as a cripple, really sets the tone for the rest of the year.

Luckily, the MRI has nothing on my rotator cuff, which was repaired on the first scope.

Sucks to hear that. Just outta curiosity though, did you bruise or see any visible damage on the surface of your arm? I got my arm caught between a large rolling object and a metal beam at work. It hurt like hell, but didn't bruise at all. I think it might have torn my bicep though, I couldn't put any weight on it while flexing the muscle, I probably couldn't have curled 5 pounds with that arm if I had tried. And even crazier was that you could actually see a dent in the muscle, it looked as if someone had just taken a dime sized chunk out of my bicep. A few weeks later though, and it feels fine, although there's still a small dent there.

Re: Well... having my shoulder scoped for the 2nd time

Where is this "dent"?

If you completely tear your bicep tendon, the bicep should roll up

And no, I have no visual signs of damage. Labrum and the rotator cuff sort of wrap around your shoulder joint, beneath the deltoid. So you can't see it from the outside.

By the way, I'm having the surgery done on the 3rd. So I probably won't be posting a lot, not until I have full use of my right arm. But I'll be reading guys

Ahhh, I see. My dent is near the peak of my bicep, but on the inner part of my arm. And it wasn't anything really bad like your injury, I didn't even see a doctor about it. Good luck with your surgery though, and have a quick recovery!

Good luck with lefty while you heal

On a serious note, that sucks and I do hope you heal up quick.

Ha, yeah I'm worry about relying on my left arm again. It didn't get me very far in the first surgery...
