The Sean Taylor Situation

As many already know, Washington Redskins CB Sean Taylor (#21) passed away Tuesday, November 27th after being shot in his home.

This morning, four men were arrested in connection to the incident. Their ages ranged from 17-20. From the reports, there is a confession on file and they will face murder charges (first degree).

It was said there intentions were just to steal things, as they were def. unaware that Taylor would be home. They knew he lived there, but figured he'd be in Washington DC since it was during the season.

-----

When I first heard about this story, I figured it was related to the off-the-field troubles he had back in 2005. Also, I thought maybe he was into the 'wrong thing' (i.e., drugs) and he made a few of the wrong people mad. Finding out that he just happened to be home at the wrong time and it was completely random - well that stinks.

Sean Taylor was an explosive player in his position and on the way to being one of the top 3 in his position with the NFL. Man, that dude hit hard nad played the game at 110%. His passing is most unfortunate, esp. since he left behind a soon-to-be wife and baby.

Its weird as this situation reminded me of Aaliyah's passing a few years back. Someone young, full of talent, dying for the wrong reasons.

Re: The Sean Taylor Situation

It is sort of sad that the people who conspired together did kill at such a young age, but that is no excuse. Yeah, maybe they are immature and didn't have any conscience at their age of shooting someone - but they did kill someone with the intent to kill. It was not self defense.

I'm more worried about the young fiance and 6-month old baby Sean left behind....

From my hometown newspaper sports writer, Jason Whitlock:

Wow, quite an article. Sad to say that the writer is true with a lot of his words..

However, I do not want to bring up the whole race issue, as that is the least thing that should be on our minds. Truth is, an innocent young male was killed for NO apparent good reason and now a young woman and a 6-month old baby are suffering. That is the only headline that is important right now.
