For the Phds out there, Quantum Computation!

So I have this project I am supposed to be working on which is to basically model graph evolution using kronecker graphs and quantum bits. My prof wants me to develop a quantum algorithm or at least make some headway in the research. I haven't really got a clue what to do so I was wondering if any of you have any experience in quantum computation and wanted to point me in the right direction?

Well, I guess the first question is this, where are you in your study of quantum computation?

EDIT:

When you say kronecker graphs, are you talking about kronecker product (matrix)?

This is purely the computational side. So i know about the pauli gates and constructing complex quantum gates, density matrices, the postulates of quantum computation, measurement, entanglement and it's use for transmitting information. Things like that.

Re: For the Phds out there, Quantum Computation!

Yea, I'm talking about taking the kronecker product. So basically if you repeatedly take the kronecker product of a matrix representing a graph, you can show graph evolution with it. Theres a lecture from a guy at carnegie melon if you google search it on the subject. I just need to figure out how to do this using qubits.

Re: For the Phds out there, Quantum Computation!

Idk, I've never worked on this particular problem before, but I would think that your first step is to take your bit data and use that to create your kronecker product matrices to form your qubits, then plug that into a time independent schrodinger equation and see what happens.

That's just a thought though, I really have no idea what product that would result in.
