Zune Help

Just to start things off...I am not asking you about ipod and how MS sucks...Leave it out of here.

I just bought a Zune. I got a CRAZY deal from woot.com and it came today

Just need a little help on the program and how to work everything with the Zune.
For instance, how can I delete a song off the playlist and when I sync back up, being it's on the Zune, it appears back up on the playlist etc...Also, when I wanna look up an artist, do I have to see the albums too cause sometimes they are spread all over the place.

Thanks for the help, I am sure I will have more questions

1) Turn off Auto-Sync.
2) If that dosn't work (and it won't always) remove the play list from your sync list then it will not update.

Re: Zune Help

yea, since I posted this thread, they came out with new software and its much better. The only problem I have with it is that it should tell you which songs aren't on a playlist yet. That would be nice.

Re: Zune Help

In the Zune software, there are Sync groups. Once you sync an entire album or artist, it will keep adding them back. You have to go in and find the sync groups, and delete the ones you don't want anymore....

Re: Zune Help

With the 2.5 software you can create an auto playlist (like the 1.x)... Just tell it what to include and update it every now and then.

Basic research is what I'm doing when I don't now what I'm doing -

Re: Zune Help

I'm getting a new laptop soon and I want to be able to transfer all my music from my Zune Database to the new hard drive. Will this be difficult?

Also, where do you guys get movies for the Zune? free music as well? I heard that torrents are good but is that the best option?

Re: Zune Help

Thats what I'm really worried about: Viruses. I want a lot of new music on my new lappy and Zune, but I'm afraid that some downloader (limewire, torrent) will bug my system.

Re: Zune Help

Trevdaddy:

On the new laptop, install the Zune software. Then connect the Zune and do a reverse sync. All the music will be downloaded to your new laptop. If you have the Zune Pass, there's an option to redownload and reauthorize all the music you've rented so far (I'm at work, don't remember exactly where it is, but it is there)

Darkfuse:

Good suggestion, although I personally don't trust limewire... I prefer the good ol' bittorrent with full encryption on
