gym rats

So this is for all those health mind people who spend decent time in the gym. Has it been worth it to you, and have you had alot of trouble reaching your goals.
how long have you been lifting?
what do you use(supplements)?
do you concentrate on anything?
and stats if you care like sharing.
i'll start
almost 4 yrs, i've gained about 15 lbs and maintained a body fat of 14%
na2 vapor, 80-100oz of water, 80-100grm of protein, and multi-vitamin
i focus on everything because of the army
5'9 150lbs 14% body fat- and yes i was very skinny when i started and it has been a very long adventure

wtf, you didn't even give me 24 hrs!

Started lifting about 4 months ago, noticeable difference.

Not a believer in any drugs or supplements, except vitamins.

Re: gym rats

oh wow you where a shrimp!

its worth it, i got injured and i couldnt work out or train for about a year. man did it feel bad.

before i trained more for endurance, i was lean and i was cut. normal muscle structure. i was not huge.

about 6 month now since i was given the green light to train and work out.
right now im about 164lbs i was at 7% boday fat but i have gone up since im trying to gain mass. i should be about 13 or so now. maybe lower.

supplements... protein

and i train everything so i can be balanced.

my goal is to be around 180 lbs and lean.. thats all

Re: gym rats

started at 115~120 pounds 3 years ago, went up to about 170 earlier this year, did my first cut down to 150 pounds that I weighed in at like 2 weeks ago, back on my bulk to get back to 170ish but be leaner than last time, already up to 156 again. While on my cut and around 155 pounds still I managed to squat 465 for one rep, and deadlift 425...now not so concerned with strength as much as putting on more mass again.

if you went from 170 to 150 you had a lot of fat, or you lost some muscle. thats a good difference between the 2 weights.

Re: gym rats

I probably did lose a little bit of muscle but maybe a pound or two at most. Everyone at my gym thought I actually gained weight, but they couldn't believe it when I told them I dropped 15~20 pounds lol.

Re: gym rats

whats the best way to loose weight running? Im a couch potato and I've been meaning to switch gears on my lifestyle. I used to be way more active but now with school and work I'm just worn out when I get to have time to kill so I watch tv and eat <- easy to say I have gained a lot of weight. most of my fat accumulates around my gut and upper thighs. any direction would be great for making some changes

I had the same issue as you, until I told myself that I was going to make lifting a class for me. meaning, I pick a time to go and I go no matter what, like my grade depended on it. I play rugby so it is kinda a must for me, but if you are serious about getting in shape (and you should be, I feel 100 times better about life now that I dropped from 230 to 210 and all my lifts went up by 150%), then make yourself do it, no excuses. Diet is key too, just eat less!!!!!! Make half what you normally would, or atleast space out your meals. it may be a pita, but it will be worth it for you.
