Anyone notice a big increase as big as the increase was from 1 processor to Core Duo?

I need a new gaming computer/Graphics editing/making threads on m3f.

:P

but for real.
i wanna pair it up with 2 8800 video cards.

The Lounge is not for anything anymore.

Re: Anyone using Intel Quad Core processors?

not so much a difference. Most programs aren't optimized to make use of two cores, let alone 4 cores. Once programs become multi-threaded, then multiple cores will become even more beneficial.

Re: Anyone using Intel Quad Core processors?

No put in a quad core yet, like mica said, no programs take advantage of it.

Small town - the PS3 has an 8 core processor from ibm, it's nothing crazy.

newegg.com is THE place for buying computer stuff, period.

Re: Anyone using Intel Quad Core processors?

and they are cheap too; you can get a Q6600 for a little under $300. As for your laptop, you need notebook ram, use this tool to find your ram specs:

Re: Anyone using Intel Quad Core processors?

sometimes eWiz has better ram pricing than newegg, but you can't go wrong with either.
