360 took a face plant on me

LOL

What are the chances......

Yesterday our 360 took a face plant on us. Husband went to play and 3 rings lit up on console. Called EB Games and they said they can not help. Finally got through to Microsoft and they said they are covering it 100%. Thank god. However it is going to take a month to get a new one.
What is funny though is last night I was reading a game magazine and it had a huge article in there about how 33% of the 360s are breaking. And how Microsoft is fixing everyones. And reimbursing everyone who paid to have theirs fixed before.

Still annoying however....

Beware. 33% of all systems are having this issue. I hope it does not happen to you either. I have only had my system for 3 months.

Re: 360 took a face plant on me

My worry is that I did not buy the 360, it was given to me as payment... and this was a year and a half ago.

Nice.

Well don't worry too much about the length of time you have had it. We bought ours from EB games and they said they would not warranty it but Microsoft never asked about date of purchase or how. They just said they will take care of it.

Re: 360 took a face plant on me

I gotta say, I wonder how much money Microsoft has lost on the 360 because of this. I know it has been a losing enterprise since they got into consoles, but they have gotta be losing money hand over fist now.

Just think, if Microsoft made cars their name would be GM.

ohhhh, SNAP!

Sorry, I had a retarded moment. Seriously though, a 33% failure rate is HORRIBLE. Heck I would consider a 3-5% failure rate unacceptable, let alone x10 higher. Most of the failures seem to be traced back to thermal damage.

I gotta hand it to Sony, their system might be pricey, but at least they have an extremely low failure rate and have on every console they have made. On the Wii the only issue I have heard about was the strap...and you can't blame Nintendo to much for that (and they seem to have promptly fixed if for all of those butter fingers out there).
