Stock Trade

I need to pay a debt of $1,700. Which to a lot of you people is not a lot, however I work my ass off, and still manage college.

It seems with all the bills I have I will never pay it off. So I want to get into stocks, but really don't know how it works or how to go about doing it.

All I do know, is you want to buy shares from a good company when the prices are low and it looks like the company will have a profitable outcome in the near future. Then when the price of the shares go up, you sell. And with some math or whatever it is, you will make some kind of money.

So can anyone out their explain it to me in detail, tell me a good company to go to, to go about doing business, like Scottrade? IDK lol.

I really need help.

Re: Stock Trade

Bad, bad idea. For many reasons. First, NEVER, ever, get into the market with money you can't afford to lose (see: Gambling). Second, the contrary to the ads on TV, the market is not a get rich quick scheme, and it takes a LOT of work, and a lot of financial knowledge, to really do well.

Yes, there are lucky people out there... but they are few and far between.

Re: Stock Trade

A diversified stock/bond portfolio is a long-term investment. No quick in & outs. No rapid trading unless you're a pro, and even the pro's frequently get burned. When I say long-term, I'm talking about buy & hold for the long run. Sure, dump a duck now and then, but that's generally an exception to the rule if you make wise stock choices.

Dude go pick up a part time job at starbucks or something. That 1500 bucks will get paid off quickly.

If I fill half my tank with Shell V-Power gas and the other half with Chevron with Techron gas will I have V-TEC gas?

Re: Stock Trade

The best way to get 1700 bucks:

Stop buying alcohol. Eat cereal for breakfast, tuna fish for lunch, pasta for dinner. Do not buy soda, snacks, go out to eat, etc.

1700 bucks will show up in no time.

if there were an easy way to make a cool $1700, we'd have all done it by now.
