SunRocket bankruptcy... Anybody else burned? :(

I recently switched my home phone from bellsouth to Sunrocket. Since i subscribed with them the service and phone quality were great.
last few days I've been trying to make an international call with no success, so i looked at their website to check my acc. and i see a nice welcome msg. that says "dear customer we apologize, but u just lost $200"...what a scam..

I got into their $199 for 2 years deal over a year and a half ago so I got some useage out of the phone but still, kinda shady and I won't repeat the same mistake. Oh, and I can still make outgoing calls on my phone?

It isn't really a scam or shady or anything of that sort... the company simply went boom. That's what happens when you invest in a startup - sometimes, they go boom. Especially if they're up against massive established companies.

Personally I don't know why anyone would replace an analog line with VOIP. You really just can't beat the quality and reliability of analog phone lines... especially in a power outage.

If you have FIOS when there is a power outtage your phone line stops working when your battery pack dies. =(

Yep, any VOIP service.  I want FIOS badly, for internet.  But not for phone. For phone, I don't want any VOIP.

You know when you get FIOS your phone will be converted as well.
I don't even have FIOS anymore but I still have to keep the battery pack running inorder for my phone line to work.
