looking for suv/truck for $5500ish

So I plan on buying a a new street bike now that the Mazda is crashed.. But because I live in WA I cant ride a street bike 50% of the year.. So I would like to get a small truck or suv with the $5000-$6000 I will have left.. Any ideas?? I just want to try to get something to last a few years, the more the better.. I would just do a daily commute along with an occasional trip to go camping.. Any ideas??

You should be able to find as truck/SUV for that much that would last you a while.

If I fill half my tank with Shell V-Power gas and the other half with Chevron with Techron gas will I have V-TEC gas?

get a basic, 4 cylinder, 2WD truck, maintenance is cheap as crap, and it will last you forever. The bigger the truck, the more expensive it is to maintain.

i have done that already lol... i am just wondering like reliability wise what would be a good vehicle... I had a Jeep Cherokee and for about 6 months it was great no problems, THEN after that one thing after another... I just want something to give me a couple years of trouble free maintenance..

After 5-7 years, every car will have it's problems. Most likely, domestics will be more problematic, but cheaper to fix. The inverse is true for most imports.

I've got a 1997 Ranger as my beater truck and its been pretty solid. Things break occasionally, but its so damn cheap to fix sometimes it makes me laugh (at least compared to repair costs on the MINI!). New shocks? $200, New clutch? $200, new tires? $300. Its slow, sure, but its reliable, and it gets 24-25 mpg still.
