anyone with gauged ears??

I had my ear lobes pierced at 10 gauge, after 1 month I stretched them to 8 gauge.. That was about 3 weeks ago today... I woke up today and my right ear lobe was fairly swollen, but I just ignored it, later on it felt a little irritated so I decided to take it out and clean it, yep it was pretty dirty, it had been a few days since I cleaned it last.. So then I gave the lobe a little squeeze and a decent amount of blood and puss came out.. After that I put like some antibiotic ointment on the lobe and on the ring back in, i pretty much had to force it back in because the lobe is swollen.. So I am just wondering I don't know anyone with gauged ears so I dont really know what to do, and I am stuck at work for about 6 more hours so I cant just go see the piercer..

Right now it doesnt hurt but its a little warm, red and swollen..

Ehhh sounds infected bro, just try to keep putting rubbin' alcohol on it to keep it clean.

If the earring is out right now I would just wait until you can go see your piercer to get it back in (that's my professional side, I'd honestly just ram that SOB back through)

Should be able to salvage it.

Re: anyone with gauged ears??

ya just try and clean it up, maybe rub a little neosporin every so often on it. make a habit of cleaning your plug or earing every day. if its a loop or partial loop, rotate the whole earing back and forth through your piercing exposing all of it to get it clean. good luck man, buy a stretcher and avoid buying a set of new earings per size.

Re: anyone with gauged ears??

Something you unfortunately have to deal with with gauged ears. Lots of people get infections from it (a lot more then simply piercings). Throw on top the fact that it is hard to keep them cleaned. Part of the reason why I dislike it...it generally smells bad because they are hard to keep clean (or at least whenever I have stuck my nose close to a person with gauged ears it smelled bad...though I admit I only know a handful with gauged ears...but they seem pretty good with their hygene).

Re: anyone with gauged ears??

thanks for all the tips guys!!! I hit up our office first aid kit and gave it a good cleaning, so I will wait it out a day or two and it it worsens I will see the piercer if it get better then good for me...

oh and you could most defiantly smell a funk once I took the plug out, it was all kinds of yucked up.. but the other ear was fine no yuck and no stink lol.. so it sounds definitely infected if its stinking and oozing!!!
