What book are you reading?

Is anyone reading a good book? Tell us a little about it!! Or tell us about your favorite book! all sorts are welcome!

I am reading: Bushido Way of the Samurai.

This is basically about the code of honor that bushido represents. I personally am very into Bushido. This book was translated from an ancient book called Hagakure. And at one time in japanese history this book was only circulated to the Samurai elite. Once it was released to the public, it was this book that shaped the underlying character of the japanese psyche that we see today.

One of my favorite quotes is from this book!
"Lesson from the Heavy Rain
Here is my lesson from the heavy rain: on your way, you meet a shower. You dislike getting wet, so you hurry along under the eaves. Still, you get wet all the same. As long as you accept that you will get wet, you won't suffer from being wet." - Tsunetomo Yamamoto

Fortune's Stroke by Eric Flint and David Drake. It is a military/sci-fi alternate history of the early Byzantium empire. Its rather interesting.

Speaking of Bushido: Way of the Warrior I need to get around to reading "Five Rings" by Musashi one of these days soon that and Von Clausewitz "On War".

Re: What book are you reading?

I am currently reading the 5th book in a 7 book series.

Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

I am reading Song of Susannah.

Unlike his usual books, these are not horror novels. They are more about riddles, suspense, gunslingers and the like. Fantastic books! I highly recommend this series.

Check out his website:

Re: What book are you reading?

Oh, I am a huge reader. (lol)

A few other really good books:

Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer (it is a twist on the religious story).
VERY good.

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
I read this before I saw the movie... it was fantastic.

The Lovely Bones and Lucky by Alice Sebold
Two very heart-wrenching novels about rape.

The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress and Deception Point by Dan Brown
Self-explanatory. He is a must-read author.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven and Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
These are two awesome books about life and death, and appreciating what you have in life.

And before I go off on a tangent I'll leave you with this last series that I just absolutely LOVE.
It is not for the faint of heart (of patience).. each book is in the 500-1000 page range.
They are all about the adventures of Ayla, a prehistoric Cro-Magnon (human). Detailed to the max, these books are INSANE. I love them.
Clan of the Cave Bear, The Valley of Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains of Passage and The Shelters of Stone by Jean M, Auel.
