My MS3 encounter with BMW 335i

So on my way home tonight I pull up behind a brand new black 335i. As I found out later its a twin turbo i6 with 300hp. He is first at a light, I am right behind him. The light turns green and he floors it, and so do I. To his amazement  he never pulled away more than 15 feet ahead. So at the next light he moves over to the right lane and I end up next to him. The light turns green and we get up to 80 head to head . At the next light he gets behind me, I guess to see what kind of car I drive. He then moves over the left lane and flloors it, and by my estimates he went way past 80 in the 45 zone in our neighborhood that is crawling with cops. So at that point I just made a left turn heading home. But you should have seen the look on this guys face, it was like "so what you got a fast car, mine is a 40k BWM 8) ".
Of course that whole experience just made my day :P , especially considering that I just put a CAI and a race pipe in last weekend and that it was all so worth it. MS Springs are next

don't fool yourself. the bmw was just idling over. 0-60 in 4.8 sec. if he was actually trying then you wouldn't have even been able to read the badge.

From a dig, yeah the bmw 335i will seem like a bullet (although the average 0 60 seem to be more in the low to mid 5s) and they'll kill us on top gear acceleration (30-50 - but who drives at that speed in 6th anyway?). But from a roll it will only gently pull away so IMO, I doubt the guy was just taking it easy.

^Thanks "rain on your parade" Bani...

I played with an E46 M3 on the highway with me in front and he didn't catch up to me at all. Wasn't like I pulled from him either but the dude was very surprised that a "Wagon" was giving him a run for his money. :P

True the MS3 can't beat a 335, but like the OP said, it sure is nice to annoy the bimmer when it can't shake off a pesky Japanese hatch; one which is close to half the price!

not to mention, how hard is it to drive a 300hp, twin turbo, direct injected, 10.2:1, AUTOMATIC BMW? No slouch by any means, but I still enjoy hearing your story.

Re: My MS3 encounter with BMW 335i

at the risk of turning this in to another street racing thread debate, i'm all for a good time and the occasional challenge but do us all a favour and try not to double the speed limit while waving your prick in residential zones between lights... that is just retarded and stereotypical rice.
