Gore challenged to global warming debate

I doubt many if any will know about this, but Al Gore has been challenged to an Internationally televised debate at Oxford's Museum of Natural History on the topic of Global Warming. Heres the link:

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...669&EDATE=

I doubt he will do it, even though it would be a great platform to further advocate his views of Global Warming. I am sure the real reason is, that as it presently stands, the majority of the world, only knows what views are shown in that movie and what the media lets them know.

say what you will about the Brits, those limey bastards really have a way with words.

Inconvenient Truth is bullshit. it's a marketing vehicle for the "green" industry, and nothing more.

Re: Gore challenged to global warming debate

I agree. Havent seen the movie, and dont plan on it. At least not till there is publicity on contrasting views. I refuse to have the typical hollywood popularity contests dictate what I belive in.

I think this would be a great opportunity for either cause. Toe to toe debate. I doubt he'll do it since he is just a puppet man. And a failure for him to defend the views expressed in the film, would be a devastating blow to all the new age hippies on the global warming bandwagon. Even if he lost, there would be tons of publicity showing how the opposing side was not fair, and lied, which is what I would expect from the mainstream. Because of how devastating the blow would be, I seriously doubt it will happen. And this reputable invite to debate will be burried.

i wonder what all the environmental scientists have to say about this... Yeah the movie is only presenting one view, but it's hard to deny the correlations in my opinion

the thing is that ALL the environmental scientists don't have the same opinion. That's why, despite Gore's constant repetition of the phrase "the debate is over", the debate actually ISN'T over.

corelation does not prove causation.

Re: Gore challenged to global warming debate

it is hard to deny the giant hole in the sky above australia.

we may not be influencing our climate in so far as ridiculous changes that will impact us within our lifespan, but we have soitenly altered many things about the earth. and none for the better.

humans are a plague. we're not killing the earth, the earth will kill us. eat a big mac and smile.
