Blood Diamond

Anyone else watch it. Frankly, I found it quite disturbing. Not only in the way that the global economy is ravaging that country and inhabitants, but in the way that maniacs are getting power and exploiting others and their government doesnt want to, or can't take charge.

Re: Blood Diamond

i saw it and i though Djimon Hounsous performance was excellent. I liked the story but it wasnt as powerful(to me) as they forcibly tried to make the movie.

My nordic green mazda3 is in a new home now.

Re: Blood Diamond

If you like Blood Diamond then I suggest you also watch "Lord of War"
It deals with the sell of arms in Africa. Both movies left the same impact on me.

Oh yea buying diamonds is a waste of money. Is this true?

Re: Blood Diamond

I saw it tonight actually. Very good movie imo. I am very surprised that this goes on in Africa. I wasn't aware of that. I also never knew what a "conflict" diamond is until now.

I think so. Its just a clear rock, BFD. What gives it value? Peoples general conception about its rarity.

I keep meaning to see Lord of War, but havent gotten around to it.

Re: Blood Diamond

i saw lord of war but not blood diamonds. What's ironic about diamonds in general, however, is the fact that they now have the ability to synthesize them in a 3 day process I believe. Visually, no one would ever know the difference

Re: Blood Diamond

I watched it in theatres with my fiance. We both thought it was an amazing movie. Very well acted by Dicaprio and Hounsous for sure!

Re: Blood Diamond

I much preferred lord of war. It was just more liquid and more believable character wise.
