Hot and sour soup TASTED Sweet

Yeah so I just bought some Hot and Sour soup from a local chinese restaurant.
It tasted sweet, not sweet in a good way but in a bad way. So I was pissed and drove back to the restaurant and complained about it. All the dude said was every chinese restaurant cooks the hot and sour soup differently. YEA but the name is HOT and SOUR soup, not Sweet and Sour soup. BTW the soup was only $1.50 they didn't even offer to redo my order
Did this ever happened to anyone on the forum?

I can tell you guys I'll never go to this restaurant again. They're so freaking cheap.
Anyone here lives in Northern Va? I'll PM you guys the name of the restaurant if you're interested.

I'd be willing to bet most Chinese restaurants don't give a crap if you don't like your order.

Egg drop FTW!

Miso or Egg drop is where its at.

That or if you want a bit more European/American fare, try homemade chicken noodle. I made about a gallon last night and brought some in today. Just the perfect thing for lunch when you are stuck at work and it is snowing outside.

Pretty easy to make and tastes great.

About 1lb of chicken cubed
8oz egg noodles
a couple of carrot sticks sliced
3-4 celery stalks sliced
1/2 a large yellow/sweet onion diced
some majoram, thyme, bay leaves, ground pepper, salt and chicken boulon.

PS if you are wondering I rarely use specific amounts of things, I just spice it till it tastes right. Only time I really use measures of something is baking.

so you drove back for $1.50 what was the cost of gas and wear and tear

if you fart and no one hears it -- did you really fart?

Re: Hot and sour soup TASTED Sweet

right its always the principle -- so in the end you decided you would never go there again -- this conclusion could have reasonably been reached once you decided that you didnt like the soup. because if a place can F up a simple soup then find an alternative. but i guess reason and logic arent necessary when principles are involved

if you fart and no one hears it -- did you really fart?
