Damn Gardeners!!

so today I am in the shower before i go to school and i hear my car alarm pager beeping, so i figured that it was from the gardeners lawnmower too close to my car. I get out of the shower (when i was done) and i check the pager, and it says the shock sensor was set off... i think nothing of it... i finish getting ready for school, and i am leaving out the door, and as i open it, my car alarm goes off. So i turn it off and walk over, and there is some stuff laying in the gutter. Turns out that dang gardeners had bumped into the trash cans next to the curb, and there were 2 old water skis that were leaning against the cans, and they got knocked over into my car, leaving 4 scratch marks, and a couple small dents...

FREAKIN A!!

so now, i'm deciding weather or not to try and get them to pay for the damage.

I already buffed off all the marks the skis left, but there are still some minor scratches, and the dents are still there.

the marks/dents aren't horribly bad, but they are kinda annoying, and they wouldn't be there if the gardeners hadn't been so careless...

and to top things off, as i was trying to rub the marks off the car, the gardeners left the side gate open and our dog got out, so i had to chase her around the block, and all this happened as i was leaving for school... I still happened to be on time though...

but yea

should i go after the gardeners or not?

i will maybe take some pics of the damage later....

Yeah, what kspec said. That sucks!!

If you look for the bad in people expecting to find it, you surely will.

Re: Damn Gardeners!!

it does.

that is plain carelessness.

glad they dont mow over rocks that hit your car as well and blow grass on your driveway and dont clean it up at least.

the gardener near our house, he cuts the grass so all of the grass and rocks fling AT the traffic...

Re: Damn Gardeners!!

Yay for long driveways.

But seriously you should get them to pay for it, since it was their fault.

Re: Damn Gardeners!!

yea.......i'm still trying to decide.....

i don't wanna totally screw them, because they are a small business that probably doesn't have a big profit margin and whatnot...

and the damage isn't horrible... i don't think it would cost to much to fix... and i think my friends dad could get me some hookups somewhere, or if i do have them pay for it, it wouldn't be a ton of money....... i dunno...

Re: Damn Gardeners!!

true,
gotta be nice. but they gotta know of their mistakes, so they dont do it to others, cause if they did it to the wrong guy, it wouldnt be fun.

You can at least let them know id say.

Re: Damn Gardeners!!

advise them and ask them to pay. they may have some sort of business insurance to cover their liability, or perhaps you can have them continue working for free, until you've recouped your loss (if you can trust them not to leave the gate open).
