See if you have the adapter for the microSD card which you put in your phone. If you can, put it inside a card reader on your computer and see if it reads it. You have to determine if its the phone or card that has issues.
(And there is a certain way to put the card in, but it shouldn't go in the wrong way, as in don't force it and it will go in with ease.)
that was quick
one question though.. i'm such a noob... where does the adapter go in my computer?
You require a card reader. Most all-in-one printers have them built in. You just need to see if another device will read the card or not. You could bring it back to wherever you purchased it from and hope they can help you out.

Ok, question. Samsung T509. I can barely hear anything on there. I have all the known audio settings turned up.
With the phone on my hip, I sometimes can't even hear it ring. With people talking on the other end, it sounds like they're in another room, whispering.
My hearing is fine. It does the same thing for my wife/sister/parents. For reference, it is as bad as my buddy's Gen1 RAZR.
While you are in the middle of a call, hit the up button on the side volume, sometimes the "earpiece volume" is lowered by accident. If that does not work, try with a headset to see if you can hear them to see if its the phone or your service. In all likeliness your phone is broke since this happened to my Uncle a few months ago.
