Our soldiers have not died for nothing! The extremists will not stop!

People need to wake up and realize that the news media owners think that the can control peoples position on the war. Everytime some one repeats their garbage reporting, their a victom of mind control. The fact is our servicemen are fighting with honor a dignity for a just cause, "religious freedom". Those who attemp to tear down the war effort need to begin supporting their troops! I mean more than putting a ribbon on their car, and saying I support our troops "but". Beleave in their mission because they do!!!!!

Supporting troops, and supporting a war effort can have two very different meanings to a lot of people.

What's up with all the spur-of-the-moment threads about the war in Iraq? There has been like 20 in the past few days

[/quote]I hope that making that division helps to justify why you don't support the troops mission. Tell that to a serviceman. I beleave in you but, I don't beleave in what your doing. How hipacritical!

^ You know, the troops may not even agree with their mission. They just have to do it to not go against orders. I think protephile is totally right about supporting troops and supporting a war are different.

You could want troops out of a country, but that doesn't mean you don't support them and wish that as many as possible come home safely.

If i remember right, after 9/11 everyone wanted troops to go
Now they all want them back and are asking why....

Whats the total loss so far? Its over 3050 last time i checked

We really cannot do anything, they are constantly deploying new troops and takeing back some

That's total bullshit. We have a volantary service. We have been in occupation of Iraq for 5 and a half years. The longest term of inlistment is 4 years. All of are armed forces are filled with people that knew that they where going to war. They signed up anyway. And we have the highest reinlistment rate ever! If they didn't beleave in their mission why would they sign up and why would they stay??

Re: Our soldiers have not died for nothing! The extremists will not stop!

Granted, there are those who know exactly what they are doing.

But you have to take into account many who signed up because they could get an education.

And it's been long enough that soldiers may have supported the war, but are tired of it. Everyone is.

I find it hard to believe we have the highest reenlistment rate ever. Could you link us or something to confirm that?

No one enters the armed services at a time of war without knowing that they may fight! Maybe in the beginning of the war, But not now. You also probable beleave that if we forget about the terrorist then they'll forget about us. You can't reason with people that think that if they sacrifice themselves to kill you, that it earns them a free ride to heaven.

Re: Our soldiers have not died for nothing! The extremists will not stop!

The problem, the mission has changed! Originally Bush's main reason to go into Iraq was due to "Weapons of Mass Destrucition", all you heard about was WMD this, WMD that, with a hint of "harboring terrorists" on the side. Well, Bush completely botched the WMD side of things and suddenly all you hear is "terrorist" this "terrorist" that. In terms of Iraq's connection to "terrorism", he's beaten a dead horse for some time now. Didn't Bush declare "We have won the Iraq war" back in 2003?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2989459.stm

Bush said we won...but if you read through the article, the war really wasn't "over", so we are still there loosing servicemen. I support the troops, but the leadership driving them is in question. As of right now, do we really have any clue as to what objectives must be met to bring our troops back home?

It's not a black and white issue.
