USPS tracking

is it just me or does USPS tracking SUCK.. I have a package that came in the mail today and just for the hell of it I went onto the tracking for it and it said that it had not even been received by the post office yet... It seems like if they make you pay extra for tracking it should actually track the package from location to location like UPS and FedEx do... USPS is good for fast priority mail and pricing but UPS and FedEx seem to be better when it comes to tracking, delivery, and handling...

Re: USPS tracking

yes. That has happened to me as well. Package was delivered and the tracking on the web still showed that it was sitting at the post office...

Re: USPS tracking

USPS tracking doesn't claim to be the same as FedEx and UPS. Whereas those services update live or close to live, USPS does not. But you're right, it should.

Re: USPS tracking

It does suck. They never update it, the only time they do is when the item is delivered. Most of the time, it says 'electronic info received'.

I've been disappointed with UPS lately as well. My last two packages didn't have an "estimated delivery date" on the web site. I called UPS and they couldn't help either. Both packages came to my house on time, but I had no idea when they were going to get there. :x

FedEx FTW!

You're the closest. USPS doesn't use it as a tracking system even though it calls it that. It's a delivery confirmation thing. It's to show something was actually delivered so a client can't go back to the online store or w/e and say, I never received it, I want my money back or something along those lines. I sell my text books online and i sent one out to OH jan1 and it's still not there and it says the post office is accepting package. I have to go file a lost package report now too cause it's over 14 biz days.

Also, even though it's delivered, it says on the USPS page that it doesn't get updated till like 4/5pm that day or overnight.

Re: USPS tracking

Only tracking system USPS has is Global Express mail, no tracking system for the continental US. Delivery confirmation just shows if the package was delivered or not, it doesn't "track" the package en route.

Re: USPS tracking

You can never rely on USPS tracking, I've had my share of problems with them.

UPS is really realiable when it comes to tracking.

Fedex is like, "package? you have a package? thats new news to me! what pacakge?" is what i get from Fedex.

I want to try DHL. Any experience with DHL?
