I need to vent!

I went to a car wash this morning, one of those touch-less types, and ended getting my left rear wheel scraped!! This particular car wash place has three automated bays with wheel guard rails and I was too close to one of them. I could feel the left rail rubbing on the tire a bit and, once I got pass the dryer area I got out of the car and notices a few small scratches on my rear left wheel. There was nobody around so I called the owner of the place. To make this story short, he offered to pay $50 bucks towards a possible $140 bill from a wheel medic, here in Columbus, Ohio (I got a quote before I met the owner later in the afternoon.) But, he refused to pay the whole bill because, as he stated, he's not sure that I scratched the wheel at his facility. I told him to shove it and gave away the few free wash coupons her gave me to "patch things over", right in front of him to a few customers waiting in line to get their cars washed. Ha! That pissed him off and before we parted, I told him I am not going to ever return to his car wash again... I don't think I really have a case against him. I wish there was something else I could do...

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen?

Re: I need to vent!

spolied bitch, it doesnt have to offer you anything!

I would take the $50 and be happy about it. All the touch-less car washes around me dont have rails because the car stays in place... Is this a moving touch-less? THat is odd.... and the rails are designed not to mess wheels up, my friend goes to a carwash and rams into them all the time and not really any damage...

You are right... However, his $50 is useless unless I go and pay for the wheel repair first and then present him with a bill. I am probably not going to do it, because that scratch is not that bad. I will have to live with it... The free car washes could have been nice, but it seemed like he wasn't going to give me anything else at first and that kinda pissed me off so, before he mentioned the $50, I walked over and gave them away... I AM A FOOL!

The rails don't move. Essentially, they are rail guards so that you don't go over them. I must have turned a wheel a bit to far to the left upon exiting the bay and, that's where I think I scratched it...

Re: I need to vent!

I dunno mang, I have to agree with the other guys. Something is better than nothing.
But hey, you did give some of the more unethical forum members an idea of how to save $50 on wheel repairs. Really, how's the guys supposed to know, unless you take pics of your wheels before each wash?

You should be washing your own car if you want to avoid this entirely, lazy. :P
