Intel Duo or AMD Dual Core?
I'm looking to get a new computer and both these processors are the same price. Is is personal preference or is there a performance difference? Suggestions? Advice? Thanks guys/gals!

what intel duo are you talking about? i am not aware of any duo running 3.4 ghz.

I think I'm actually going to get the Intel Duo 2.4Ghz. Now it's just a matter of convincing the wife!

My dad has been working with computers for 25+ yrs. I actually asked him about the AMD Dual Core myself. All I got was a very stern NO lol. So I went with the Intel core 2 duo processor instead

Yeah everything on that website Oricle listed had the Intel Duo rated faster. It's for a tower. My old school 2.4 Ghz Intel 3 just shat itsself. I'll be getting the Intel for sure. Thanks for all ya'lls advice.

AMD all the way
Really know the design pipeline of a Intel chip and a AMD chip
Then other little stuff adds up... heat, MB designs/functions.. then price
I dont know much about the coreDUO series, just not insterest in the company called Intel
It seems on the benchmarks it does very well, most the human eye would even know about
Definatly CoreDUO > P4 for Intel
The amd 64 bit chips still amaze me, i run a 4400+ with 3gb of ram

I was AMD all the way, until the Core series (and Core 2 series, after that). Now I don't even know what AMD makes.
