DVI, HDMI, PS3 & HD ready TV?

I'm not much into the high tech TV stuff and figured I get a better answer here than at some of the places close by.

I have a 4year old RCA 65" TV. It is HD ready as I was told at the time was not needed as to use any of the upcoming HD things they would require their own HD tuner.

Now that I got a PS3 I was looking to get the best of it out of the TV I have now.
I'm currently using the component cables from the PS2. Picture quailty is ok on some but on a few the difference is huge, like on NBA2K7!

I have the DVI connection on the TV and no HDMI. I seen that there is a DVI to HDMI convertor at a few stores and was wondering if this will work on my tv. Or will I need some sort of HD tuner for it.

So what are my options?
I'm really not looking to get a tv just for the PS3 right now.

Thanks

you don't need a HD tuner unless you want to watch HD channels using off the air antenna. Cable and satellite providers give you a receiver that has a HD tuner if you're getting the HD package.

as for the PS3 question, a DVI to HDMI cable is fine, just make sure the DVI end is DVI-I. You don't need a tuner for this.
