Dropping Electronics in the water... Ever work again?

Well i will admit in the past i have put cell phones in cups of water for a day or two to get a new phone but something happened today that i cannot believe.

So im putting some water in the doggy dish, and holding my PSP (PLaystation Portable) in my hand, the dog jumps up on the side of me because he was excited, and i dont know how but..... fumble.... Totally submerged the PSP; me and the dog stared at the PSP resting at the bottem of the dish.

I wonder if it's going to work again?

When i was trying to fry a cell phone it took about 3 soakings before it wouldnt turn on anymore...

Any experiances getting stuff wet? Working again? Dead?
PSP perhaps?

Shit, man. Well, I guess it's a good thing you didn't buy the battery, now is it? :P

(sorry, couldn't resist)

From what I heard, the best thing to do is to take apart everything that you can, and let it dry. I read an article on Yahoo! about people getting shit on their comp, and they said to unplug it, take the battery out, anything plugged into it, and let it dry. Give that a shot, and see if it helps.

I dropped my cell phone in the toilet. Let it dry out for a day and it worked.

Just last week I threw it in mud because I was pissed, and then JUMPED on it. Still worked even after I rinsed off the mud.

if it wasn't powered on, and you removed the batteries immediately, there's a good chance it's okay.
leave it off without power for a few days or long enough to be certain any moisture is gone before putting the battery back in to test it.

good luck!

Yeah i guess i will go buy another, i had it drying for like 20 mins and decided to see if anything would happen, it blinked on then went off...

It was on when it got dropped into the dish and right when i pulled it out it shut itself off..

that's doesn't mean it's no good. 20 minutes is 2 days too short. let it dry...
