Anyone ever been "had" on ebay???

Just wondering if anyone else has been "had" on ebay. My husband bought a golf club about 4 months ago. Right after he won the auction ebay sent him an email saying DO NOT PAY EBAYER IS FRAUDULANTLY USING SOMEONE ELSES ACCOUNT. So, of course my husband already paid for it. We put a dispute in with Paypal, and lost due to the fact that the ebayer gave them a tracking number. So, we were sent a golf club by this person (in china) it was not even close to the one he spent $200.00 on and we never were refunded our money. I am thinking twice about using ebay anymore. It was due to someone in China that got a hold of someones ebay account here in the US and was using that account to get people to buy their "fake" items.

good. And i do recommend hesitating when paying now. We could not even prove that we bought an item from ebay due to them cancelling the auction. So, we lost $210.00 that day. Well we sold a bunch of stuff recently and I think we are done.

Also, we just sold a turbo kit for an RSX type S and some buyer bid $1600.00 on it, and never paid. So, that stinks. $100.00 to list it and now no payment.

That does suck. You think eBay would have worked out a fail-proof system for that, after being around for so long, but I guess if they have a will, then there is a way

Re: Anyone ever been "had" on ebay???

I think the most expensive thing I've got is my Beltronics radar (~220). I always check their feedback, and try to use that as a guide as much as possible. Most recently, I bought a 2 gig memory card for my digital camera, and got it within a few days.

How did the buyer get out of not paying for the turbo kit? Did they pull some crap with ebay/paypal saying they never got it?
