If you have children.....

..do you or did you ever use a pacifier? I hate them and think they are stupid. I have never given my daughter one, though my wife tried. My baby would have nothing to do with it. Not only do they block their facial expressions, but it is often a kids first bad habit, and one that is totally unnecessary.

Re: If you have children.....

I don't have kids, but I can see where you're coming from.

all I have to add is that if you're going to use a pacifier, use something like these

Re: If you have children.....

^ lol awesome idea.

I don't have a [real] kid either but I know where you're coming from with the addiction. I gave my dachshund a pacifier when she was a puppy because she would try to "nurse" on just about anything (i think she was taken away from her mommy too early).. to this day she still carries around her "binkie"

why can't i have a normal pet...

**not on this forum and not unless its in a for sale thread.

lol.

does pacifier make buck teeth like sucking on your thumb?

and that rumor about ppl chewing gum, messing up their stomach cause their stomach pumps acid when your not swollowing any food. does that apply to pacifiers?

maybe ppl use it cause kids are happy and dont cry with it.

Re: If you have children.....

Are pacifiers good for kids' teeth? I know sucking on your thumb as a kid causes overbites and makes you need braces.

By the time a kid has teeth, they should be off the pacifier. Otherwise they get a gap.

Re: If you have children.....

Both my daughters never liked the pacifiers, thank goodness. My youngest sucks her to middle fingers and it looks like it will be a challenge to break her out of it. I'm tempted to poor hot sauce on her fingers.

That actually works. I've heard of people putting such things as lemon juice, etc, on kids' fingers, and it's worked perfectly.
