Help..What TV should I buy? I can't make up my mind

Ok, here is the problem. I'm moving out in a couple of days and I can't decided
what TV to buy, Right now it comes down to these two. Both are samsung and are
1080P. One is 50"DLP the other is either 40 or 42 LCD. Do i say screw the 50" I want a better picture and view angle get the 42LCD,
or do I want the 50" bigger is always better.

1.Samsung 50" DLP Projection HDTV (HL-S5087W) 1080P
Price is $1804.99
here is the link if anyone is interested
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Samsu...oductDetail.do

2 Samsung 40" LCD HDTV (LN-S4095D)
Price in store is 1899

Any thoughts would be great. I never knew picking a TV would be such a hard choice.
Usually I would just go and buy, but this time I don't want to spend around 2000 and be stuck with a bad choice.
Thanks

Couple things to consider also: How big is the room you will be watching tv in and what do you use your tv for? There are places online that will tell you how far away you should be for optimal viewing of tv's. If your new tv room is too small for the 50" don't get it, it won't be comfortable to watch. Also I've heard that lcd's are the best for gaming, so if you play a lot of video games, then go with lcd. We just got a 42" Samsung lcd, and it's amazing. We axed the bigger tv's, +46", because our tv room isn't that big.

Agreed with the room size concept.
Anything above 8ft out should go above 50inch I believe.
here's a calc to measure optimal viewing distance.
Leave out box #1 to calc the SMPTE viewing distance.

if you want a good deal and you want to go big (50" or above) i recommend DLP or LCD rear projo.

I'm a big fan of the sony LCD projo units, you should be able to score a good 50" for well under $2k.

Re: Help..What TV should I buy? I can't make up my mind

I recently purchased the 50" DLP you posted above, and simply, its amazing. My 360 looks great on it as well. The only thig you should concern yourself with is what the others have said, the room size. I've noticed if you sit too close this mine it does get a tad blurry. I think I paid 1799 for mind in July-ish. IMO, you can't go wrong with any Samsung TV.

thanks for the advice guys. I think I am now leaning toward the 40 inch LCD 1080P. My living room isn't going to be huge. but a nice size.
I think the 50 might be a tad to big. Steve13 what samsung LCD did you get? Is yours 720p or 1080p?

1 last thing: if you belong to Costco, check out their selection.
Amazing, & I do mean amazing prices!
& the return policy is unbelievable.

My brother just bought a 67in Samsung DLP for $3k stand included.

They would put BB &CC out of business if they ever expand their sq ftage.
