What a way to end the year

I was looking outside to check the weather and spotted these two cars parked across the street from my apartment. I don't recall hearing any crashes or noises in the night. I feel bad for the owners of the cars.

The 4 Runner was parked infront of the Integra. The Integra took the brunt of the damage. It's hard to see, but the lock on the door was completely smashed out.

Re: What a way to end the year

Was it a sideswipe or vandalism?

Re: What a way to end the year

It looks like both actually. I would lean more towards side swipe than vandalism, but the damage on the Integra suggests otherwise. It's only these two cars. The Volvo parked behind the Integra has no damage.

Re: What a way to end the year

I decided to call the police department and report it as a hit and run. I couldn't just sit here and not do something to help the owners. I wish I saw who did it.

Good

My g/f and her mom woke up this morning to find footprints on her sister's car, as if someone jumped on it, and their neighbor's (who is out of town) windshield smashed in. No reason why, probably just some dick kids thinking vandalism is cool. Called the cops, and even though they probably won't catch 'em, it still helps

Re: What a way to end the year

The police are outside (way to go!) and I went down to introduce myself and let them know who I was. The closer I got to the cars and from what the cops told me, it appears the window smashing is old. I could see the tape outline (which from the photo was hard to see). They left notes for the owners. The cops said that it's a low crime area and they rarely come out for burgleries and so on.

Then he smiled (what a cutie too) at me and said, "let me guess, you have a garaged spot". I nodded and laughed.

I got his card. Didn't see a ring on either of the cop's fingers, but the other one looked too much like my sister's Rabbi.
