Dealer wrecks Corvette while fixing antenna and jammed trunk

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1581344

I don't like cross-posting between forums, but this guy's story should get some publicity. The short version is that he took his Corvette into San Rafael Chevrolet to get the antenna fixed and the trunk unjammed and specifically asked them not to drive it off the lot. One grease monkey speed-demon later and he's looking at $17,000 worth of damages, with the dealer jerking him around over an additional $12,000 in depreciation.

Wow...this is in my own backyard almost. San Rafael has a lot of very well off and rich people there. Last thing you want to do is piss one of them off. lol.

Well, admittedly he had just wrecked a Corvette, so he probably had a whole host of other problems on his mind. His sense of judgement certainly suggests he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, though.

If that were my car, I'd sue them and become the new owner of that dealer when I was done with them.

That works in theory but not in real life. The best he may hope for is a new car and that would be a stretch.
I feel very bad for him cause it sounds as if he is a little strapped to make the $829 monthly payment.

Man that sucks, but it sounds to me like that guy was stretched WAY to thin on that car. Harping about the $800 + monthly, can't afford a lawyer. I'd love to have a G35 coupe, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna break my financial back to do it.
