UGH....Quiting Smoking.

So with the new tax that is coming out on cigs. at least over here in Texas is anyone planning to quite cause of that? I just can't constitute spending any more money than I already am on cigs anymore. I have been smoking for about a year and a half now so I have been easing off slowly for the past two weeks and hope to be done with it by the new year. Any one have any suggestions for getting off smoking in a good manor. Keep in mind I do have a temper so thats why I'm taking it slow....for my Fiances sake. Or if anyone has comments for the new tax.

A little info on whats up.
Before I would pay 34.98 for a carton of cigarettes.
Now with the new tax ( a dollar more per pack) I pay 44.98
The above= skrew that!!

I know smoking is hella bad for you so I am kinda glad they did this cause I needed a push to get me to quit.

Re: UGH....Quiting Smoking.

Where I live cigs are $10/pack. They almost doubled the tax on cigs a few years ago and I think it forced a lot of people to quit.

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer

Re: UGH....Quiting Smoking.

i smoked cigs in wisconsin, and a pack of marlboro reds were 2.98 when i moved, and a pack of camel wide lights were 3.11.

in michigan its 5.15 for the reds, and 5.25 for the camel wide lights. if it gets above 5$ for cigs i quit.

Went from a brand new 06 Silver Hatch to a Crispy 06 Hatch to a White 06 tC

I dipped Copenhagan for years, my Dad got me hooked. He would always be like, "Want some candy?" My dentist said, "I highly advise you to cease all dipping or you will lose your jawbone".......HOLYCRAP! Now I'm addicted to the damn Commit lozenges and they cost more than the dip!

Re: UGH....Quiting Smoking.

I had a boss who dipped. It was the most disgusting thing to watch him do it while at work. How innapropriate too, and in a financial setting. Blech. He put it in his upper lip and you could always tell when he just dipped because of the bulge in his lip. How people do that to themselves is beyond me.

Re: UGH....Quiting Smoking.

Shoot when my dad used to do it he would spit in a cup....well one day my mom got the cups mixed up with her drink. Needless to say my dad quit dipping that day haha.

^ *puke*

good luck quitting... i've watched my mom, dad, brother and boyfriend try numerous times to quit. it might be easier for you since you haven't been smoking that long.

**not on this forum and not unless its in a for sale thread.
