Skateboard Thread ;=-- pew!! pew pew!!!

Anyone here skateboard?

I just bought my 3rd deck.
first was crappy walmart one when i was a kid in korea.
- took a break -
2nd was a habitat board i got a couple months ago.
and i just orderded an Almost Daewon Knight board.

this one doesnt look too cool but eh, it was like 33 bucks on ebay.

my new board:

street or vert?

Which board do you use?

Im looking at a new enjoi board, 53mm wheels, dunno alot about skateboards. I just use them and do stuff. I learned when i was like 13-14 on a walmart board lol. you can ollie on those things!

i dont use that board anymore by the way lol. But was wondering what board do you guys use and are happy with on the street? I dont use ramps/verts.

Re: Anyone skateboard?

I've had good experiences with Girl/Chocolate boards, however my recommendation is to check out a local shop and see how the board feels fright on your feet.

The fit and feel of the board is as subjective the fit of a shoe. For example a lot of the east coast, Zoo York boards in my hay day usually had full sweeping noses and tails and a lot of concave. It just didn't feel right to me. With the choco/girl boards I've ridden the concave is medial and the tail has more sharper taper.

Another thing about fuller boards their great for charging stuff at full speeds, big ollies, big stairs, big flips tricks, but they can be a bitch to relearn tricks with a bigger rig.

The smaller boards, 7 3/8's for myself, were easier to control and trick on, however your landing area is a bit smaller.

For me the narrower tail gave me great pop and the medial concave gave me predictable flips.

What it all comes down to is personal preference man, I'd say go out and get something that feels right to you and go out and skate!

Man I miss skating...

Re: Anyone skateboard?

haha thanks, yeah its been a while since i used my own board to skate. just used my friends when i went over. but the thing is, i dont use skater shoes, i learned to skate in nikes i think, and now imma be skating in some puma romas. i guess to me it feels better to know what my feet are doing. plus i dress kinda preppy so skater shoes might not go with my style.

Re: Anyone skateboard?

when i did skate i just picked up a cheap blank deck and covered with stickers of my choosing, or painted it myself. as was said, just find a deck that feels right. i was always partial to cadillac trucks.

but anyway... now i longboard. down hills. scary shit, right there.

Re: Anyone skateboard?

I wouldn't advise skating in shoes that you don't expect to f' up. Expect your front foot shoe to get chewed up pretty quick with the grip tape. Or you could go uber tech and skate with no grip tape.

Re: Anyone skateboard?

I miss skating everytime I needed a new board I got a different brand. element, enjoi, alien workshop, flip etc. just whatever felt right in the shop. i had the same destructo trucks for like 5 years, those things were awesome. all i had to do was replace the bushings once. A couple months ago I gave my board to some kid in my neighborhood, it was pretty much new besides the old ass destructos.

Re: Anyone skateboard?

i have an element heartagram deck... that hangs on the wall.

it's been since high school since i've even tried to skate. i'd probably break something if i tried now.

**not on this forum and not unless its in a for sale thread.
