need advice with Sprint cellphone bill

I am so furious.

I've been a sprint customer since april and i haven't been happy at all.. my first issue was that i was getting charged for text messages ($15 a month) but I couldn't send them from my phone, only receive. It took over 4 months for THAT issue to get solved.

This morning, I checked my cell bill online and I have an additional charge of $51.49. I called CS and I was told that it was for downloading a ringtone (which i did) and for signing up for a Latino Chatting service*

they didn't believe me that I didn't sign up for it and they kept telling me that the charge is valid since it came from my phone number. the supervisor i spoke to even told me that the charges were valid and it had to have been me to sign up for it because it was a 3 step sign up for the service. i asked the guy i spoke to if there was any way that i could prove that i didn't sign up for this service, and he said no. basically, after being called a liar and being accused of trying to steal money from sprint (even though they've stolen lots of $$ from me) i gave up and just said i would go to my sprint store and see if they could help me any better.

it really bothers me that sprint doesn't care about fraudulent charges on people's accounts. has anyone else had something similar happen and how did you get it resolved? it doesn't matter if it wasn't with sprint, i just need advice!

Are you on a contract with them? If not, leave. You could always contact the BBB in your area to help you sort these charges.

Thats sucks. I would go into a local store and talk to one of the sales reps. They are usually more helpful then the CS people.

Should I go ahead and pay the charges and then try to get reimbursed somehow?

Re: need advice with Sprint cellphone bill

Sprint is notorious for bogus charges. when I signed up for service 2 years ago, this is what happened...

I signed up for 2 phones (2000 minutes).
I put a cap on the bill at $200 (I didn't want any suprises and 2000 mins should cover it, right?)

One week after getting the phones, the service turned off.
I called to ask why, and they said I owed $700!!!!
I asked how I could have $700 of charges with 2000 minutes? (I had used maybe 20 mins).

"Ooops" they said...somebody had entered my info, then cancelled it and entered it again and I was charged an early termination fee.
They offered to give me 50 free minutes for my inconvenience! I said "what the fuck to I need more minutes for, with 1980 mins left for the month!!??"

Sprint is a effing joke!

I bet I can get out of the contract. Without paying the early termination fee of the 200 and some odd dollars they charge.

But for the bill, your stuck with that.

^^^sorry, I forgot Stephanie was requesting advice, not more diatribe...

Steph,

Your so cute, they'll prolly help you out when you go to the Sprint store. My advice, find a young guy (not girl) to help you! *:P

Re: need advice with Sprint cellphone bill

Stephanie, speak to a manager and be stern with him or her and let them clearly know you will not only be contesting the charge, but you will not be paying for it either.

If they terminate you, do not pay the termination fee. Be sure that you don't have them deduct your monthly bill from your checking account. Change that right now if it's set up like such.

keep calling and complain. They will refund you money eventually. Also Sprint user can get up to $10 service credit for dropped calls. All you have to do is *2 and say DROPPED CALL. You get $.50 cents each time this is done. I do this with both my phones. and get a $20 service credit each month. I live near mountains and get dropped calls all the times.

I have so many horror stories about Sprint/Nextel (myself and numerous friends and family).... They have the worst reps I have ever dealt with and never wanted to help me with my problems.. I just paid them the $200.00 and went with Cingular!
