Is Anybody Beta Testing Vista for microsoftcrap? I am sitting here looking at a copy of it on my desk, but I don't wanna install it because I've heard so many bad things about it.

Re: Vista

Most of the criticism that I've heard is due to how restrictive Vista is. Microsoft is becoming a digital rights and licensing whore. That's one of the reasons why I switched to another operating system altogether at home. I still keep XP around, but on a separate PC. I most likely will not be buying Vista.

I've played with most of the betas and tech demos. It's actually not that bad, and has a lot of nice features. It will be a fantastic OS for your average home user. And, to be honest, I don't think it will be that bad for a lot of business users. It is a resource hog, and if you can't run aero then you lose a lot of nice features.

Find a spare machine or dualboot your current xp box to evaluate it. I'm installing Vista Business on a machine now, I'll let you know how it comes out. shitty dell optiplex though, so no aero for me. Have to take it home and try it on my gaming rig. I love msdn!

Re: Vista

I installed it on my machine last night ... what a PEICE! I have a dual core Pent. 3ghz w/ 4 gigs of ram, and it SUCKED. When I buy another box, it's either gonna be a mac.

Screw Microsoft.

There's no such thing as a dual core pentium 3 GHz.

Re: Vista

I'm calling BS....either you don't know how to find drivers or you're lying about the specs of your machine. Post a screenshot of your specs then I might believe you.

Re: Vista

I was wrong, it's not a pentium, it's a Xeon dual core 3 ghz, which makes it even worse.

But beyond that, here comes the ownage .....

In response to that ... you're a D.A.* Intel's site tells you that they go up to 3.4, and the extreme's go up to 3.7 ... well above 3 ghz.

Uh, Hell no .. I spent too much money on this bitch to be lying

If you click this pic you will see a full screenshot ( 56k be careful, that screenshot is 2500 pixels wide due to my dual monitors), the system says I have 3 gigs of ram, but that's microsoftcrap's fault ... windows loads the PICE drivers in at the 3 gig level, and ( even though it gets utilized ) windows does not see the other gig.* It's a noted problem and I think I have a white paper on it somewhere around here.*

Don't call me a liar.

School's out beyotch!
