Casino Royale Movie Review ::spoilers::

I just got back from Casino Royale and I honestly have to say it was better than I thought. Daniel Craig did a much better job than I had originally pictured in my mind, that whole blue eyes and blonde hair thing was throwing me off. Despite him doing a great job I still think it sucks that he refused to lean how to drive a manual to drive an original DB 5 in this movie, that would explain why they didn't have lots of car shots. I liked the feel of this movie, it had an original Sean Connery type feel, yet it was modernized. I also like the story and how involved it got, that also reminded me of the Bond movies that involved Sean Connery. The opening sequence of this movie was also had an older Bondish feel, they really did a nice job moderizing this movie.

I would recommand anyone who has doubts about seeing it to give it a chance, I had my doubts but so far all the reviews have been pretty good.

Re: Casino Royale Movie Review ::spoilers::

I thought it was a good movie too, but I was a bit disappointed by the ending. It was just too slow, and although it was setting up the next movie, I thought it lacked a real climax. The two getting cozy towards the end of the movie didn't fit in right, it seemed too late. That and the lack of gun play.

Can't and won't learn to drive a stick, should have found an actor who was not a pussy!

If you look for the bad in people expecting to find it, you surely will.

The driving a stick ruckus was a rumor started by the anti-craig faction of fans and was proven as such.

Great movie by the way, saw it this afternoon and couldn't be happier with it, no complaints. Craig did a great job in the role IMHO and I was prepared to be skeptical (I was until today, a huge Brosnan fan in the Bond role).

Pretty sweet movie, the use of parkour in the opening action scene gave it some bonus cool points. Pretty much what I expected, so i was pleased!

Is it another one of those bond films where a room full of guys gets sprayed with automatic gun fire and there is no blood?

I thought he was a good Bond, but he did that pouty lip thing too much. and what a loser for not learning stick.

But overall, this movie SUCKED. BAD. It was the worst Bond movie for sure. James Bond doesn't TALK about FEEEEEEELINGS. WTF is that. When he told Vespaaaaaa(STOOOOPID) that he loved her, I wanted to stand up and go "AWWWWWWWW NNNNNNNNNNNAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" and walk out.

Plus there were no cool bond gadgets, the car didn't even have missles, just a AED, OOOO wow! Not. What kind of Bond car is that?! WHERE WAS Q?! No insane gadgets at all, that wash dishes while disarming a nuclear weapon or something.
I fully understand that this was Casino Royale, but did they really have to try and jump on the Texas Hold 'Em Bandwagon and have Bond play cards for at least 30 minutes in the card room.

This Bond movie had to of been written by a Woman. I mean, James Bond doesn't fall in love with anyone, or talk about his feelings. How he is sick of being a mercenary for Queen and Country. Plus, she was an OK bond girl but I mean, there have been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better Bond Girls. Especially for Bond to fall in love with.

Re: Casino Royale Movie Review ::spoilers::

Just remember this isn't the James Bond we know, this is a man becoming that James Bond. I liked the movie because this James bond bleeds, has to reload his guns, makes mistakes, and crashes through obstacles instead of going around them. He's not some snooty gentleman who never gets dirty.

That being said, the movie itself does have some issues, mainly the "fourth act". The climax of the movie being the poker game, which is very quiet with little action. Then afterwards you still have a bunch of movie left with twists, turns, betrayals, and the writers trying to connect the dots between the Bond they've created and the regular Bond. Overall I thought it was a fresh, entertaining take on the Bond franchise, though it comes with some slow sections and an awkward ending.
