Bad breath

so i have this friend...we've been friends for 15+ years...we're not close like we used to be but i still see/talk/email him a couple times a month....he's always had an issue with his breath. it's not always bad but more often than not it's pretty nasty....he's a good guy, hard worker, good sense of humor, decent looking but he's had a hard time keeping girfriends since his divorce...i'm 99% sure it's because of his breath...i'd really like to tell him but at the same time i don't want to hurt his feelings.

i know everybody is going to say 'would you want him to tell you if the rolls were reversed?' well yeah i would, but it's easier said than done. what should i do...and if i should tell him, how should i do it?

Re: Bad breath

buy him a battery powered breath mint -- subtlety goes a long way

or kick it with him at the sewage treatment plant that way the overall stench will mask his and you wont be able to tell. maybe if took the women ther for a first date, and well every subsequent one there after, they wouldnt notice it. then slowly ween them off and they will just be used to smelling seweage that they wont ever notice his breath.

OR

eveytime he talks say something like "hey do you smell that" after you say that a couple times turn it up to "man that smells like turd a$$" then just make a passing comment like "man I am glad we dont have any stench problems eh!" then punch him

if you fart and no one hears it -- did you really fart?

Re: Bad breath

tell him to see a doctor. Breath shouldn't stink like that all the time. It could be anything from bad oral hygeine habits to an infection in his lungs. Seriously...if it's that bad all the time then it could be a serious problem.

oh, and since someone else started with the fake advice...tell him to stop blowing hobos down at the bus station. The should clear his breath right up.

Re: Bad breath

yeah easier said then done.

id have a real hard time telling someone if i wanted to.

or you could just tell him. "Hey, no offense, but your breath is kinda kicking today" * * Then he might start to be conscience every day he goes out, thinking about it. *But after you say that, say "Want some gum or something?"

Make sure you got gum with you when you say that, or he will know his breath stinks and can do nothing about it at the moment.

Re: Bad breath

I have a buddy with that problem. I am blunt, so I asked him if he ate a shit sandwich for lunch...lol

He got the "hint" and was happy I told him. He is a smoker, so that might have been part of it....

Re: Bad breath

If it were me, I'd rather someone tell me than let me go on living as a bachelor...
