How can a busy person manage their weight?

Just as the title says... if you're an individual that has NO time whatsoever to get to the gym, and your only options for food every day are lunch carts on campus, what do you do to stay fit? I've put on weight lately and I feel gross. I might as well attack the problem before it gets out of hand Thanks!

Re: How can a busy person manage their weight?

I put on a bunch of weight when I first started driving truck, I know how you feel. The best way I've found to combat it is to eat healthy and walk whenever you can. When I got home I would walk the 10 minutes to the bank instead of drive for 2, I also would walk accross the street to the grocery store every other day instead of loading up tons of food in my car. It may not seem like a lot but the extra 10 minutes of walking 3-4 times a day really does make a difference

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer

eat every 3-4 hours, small portions, granola bars , fruits etc.. healthy stuff

eat on the go..... your body is going to know you get pleanty of food, so it wont store it(the fat) and you will start to lose weight . plus walk a lot, just move around as much as you can

Eat properly. Eat your meals 5 hours apart, and don't snack inbetween. Even if you're snacking on healthy foods, your body is still releasing insulin. However much water you're drinking now, double it.

Re: How can a busy person manage their weight?

Yeah, I used to eat the same way I do now more or less. The fact that I was keeping active and working out kept me at the right weight. I'm the type of person that can enjoy a big bowl of pasta or a juicy cheeseburger and still not gain weight if I exercise. The problem is, now I need to lose weight (not just maintain it) and I'm not getting much time to exercise. In a way, I guess I've also been eating worse than usual because I use food as a little escape from the daily grind, especially if I'm having lunch with other people and just want to enjoy it. I hate sitting there with a little tuna sandwich watching them for half hour while they enjoy a nice cheesesteak :-P

I might start packing along some things with me to eat throughout the day. If I can squeeze in an hour every other day for some treadmill fun, I think I can get back in shape within a few months. Right now, I don't have a set eating schedule. I eat whenever I have time to eat, and that varies a lot from day to day. There's no set interval of time between my meals; it's whenever I feel hungry... even late at night I often stay up until crazy hours in the morning, and sometimes I forgo sleeping altogether.

Re: How can a busy person manage their weight?

well you just need to change some things around, like i said.. eat burgers just dont eat them everyday, control what you eat, treat yourself but not too often.. you can still eat great and healthy!

but yeah the 3-4 hour eating helps a lot, bodybuilders do this to keep their weight just right, they wake up in the middle of the night just to eat, of course they eat lean but they eat.

and yeah, when you get home while you watch tv, walk on a threadmill if you have one, if not walk in place or something like it, you may have to do something like this to keep your self busy and doing something.

or just get up early 3 days a week to work out, if you can find the time... you dont have to workout everyday
