Re: Makeing a new cd... (techno)

depends on the type of techno you like. do you want brutal beatz or just some house-y shit? what are you into? if you like the prodigy i can give you some more recs along those lines.

to start:

dj acucrack's "nation state"
download's "omniman"
skinny puppy's "past present" or "assimilate"
my life with the thrill kill kult's "temptation serenade"
unkle's "in a state"
gorillaz's "dare"

ALL of MSTRKRFT's "the looks" (buy this cd, it is amazing)

almost any vnv nation, slick idiot, assemblage23, covenant or infected mushroom will also work. i suppose these are only to name a few, though they should give a good starting point on your way to oontz-oontz-land.

oh, crap, didn't even make it to my "S"s! seconding Slick Idiot, Skinny puppy's last album (the greater wrong of the right), and KMFDMs "symbols" album.

If you want more dancy, Apoptygma Berzerk's "welcome to earth" and Razed In Black's "Damaged"

looking for lyrics or no-lyrics?

BOTH OF BAXTER'S albums, if you can find them, buy them, you wont be sad. If only getting one, get the first one (self titled).

Isn't all techno electronic? =/

And techno is actually a subgenre of electronica, different from DnB.

we should start a club. i havent listened to any of it in awhile actually. i like it when people ask questions that make me have to rifle through my ipod again and remind me of all this great music i havent listened to in too long.

i feel obligated to leave at least one album each time so as to not be a thread-jacker. SO:

if you want some CRAZY shit, check out Velvet Acid Christ's "Hex-Angel: Utopia-Dystopia." It's really good, and he uses great samples from movies, but there are parts that i wouldn't recommend listening to for the first time alone in the dark.

Re: Makeing a new cd... (techno)

It's ok, I rather call it techno anyways, electronica sounds kinda girly. I didn't even know all of that stuff until some candykids went ape on me haha.
