So here is my story...chances of this happening to you, 1 in 1,000,000,000. *
(Keep in mind that all of this happend in the past 2 weeks, also imagine this happening to you...it will be more dramatic then...)

OMG they Horrendously Mutilated my Rim!!! :x, Oh well, atleast I can get my car lowered while waiting for parts..."Sir, You will need a Ford Mustang suspension to install these springs..." "WHAT!?! *:rtfm: Ooo, a package at the door, I wonder what it could be... a blue Mazda3 jacket...wait a second...I ordered red
So one day I read a post which says, "Hey, my rims are bubbling" etc. etc, I find out this seems to be happening to alot of people with the 17" alloys, so I check my car and lo and behold, the same thing is happening on my Rims!!! (They have been driven 1.5 Summers only) *I head over to my local mazda dealership, which is Westowne Mazda in Toronto and...
Post from TM3 which I made:
"Well, took the car there this morning and, Al, (assistant service manager?) told me that their district dude told him that all rims with this problem should be sent out for refinishing...and should not be replaced!
So they gave me this old hunk of junk protege loaner (atleast its still a mazda) for the next few days until the rims come back...do we only get to fill out one survey or will I get another one...I really need to rant about this to someone!!!
Edit: I called them just now since this has been bugging me and they told me they only keep 1 loaner now incase of emergency (I guess my case was an emergency?), and its the protege! (Due to them having problems with damaged loaners in the past...she says...) "
"Wednesday night I found that the insurance papers in the car had expired so I went back and talked to Tony the sales manager and he gave me new ones to put in the car.
Today morning I went and talked to Al again because the Protege seats were making my back sore and his only other loaner was a 2003 protege....seemed worse then the first one, I wound up just giving them the protege back and having the shuttle drop me off.
After work I sat around at the TTC station for a half an hour because service was "too busy to take my call" and the receptionist with all her attitude couldn't be bothered to get the driver onthe phone... anyhow I went and picked up my 3...woo, finally! Refinishing job was pretty bad, the inner surfaces (still visible surfaces, not the back) are all rough, and on 3 places or so there are "drops" of paint that have dried up to make a bump.
As well, one of the "bubbling" areas is still "bubbling" but is just covered up with paint.
Called Al at 6pm as they were closing and he told me to show him on Monday.
Side note: since they were originally supposed to replace the rims I had asked him to put my new tires on when they were doing this...since we ended up getting them refinished Al said he would install my new tires anyways, they forgot to do this...Al asked me to bring it in on Monday to have it done..."
Okay, so something I didn't include in my posts on TM3 (Toronto Mazda 3 Club), on Friday (next day after I got my car back) I ended up taking the car back in and asking him to put on the new Tires instead of doing it on Monday and to show him the crap refinishing job.
I dropped my car off in the Morning and in the middle of the day Al calls me and says "one of the tires doesn't match" so I say, "What do you mean?" he says" Its a Uniroyal but has the same tread..." *Anyhow...that story is next. *About the refinishing, Al and Niki (Service Manager), told me that the district dude will have to look at it, and they will call me in 3 weeks when he comes in, I will have to come and show my car to him and only then something can be done.
Overall Satisfaction: 3/10

July 18 Update: No Word Yet From Westowne Mazda.
July 19 Update: I heard back from Al today, he tells me that the District Service manager dude is coming in tomorrow and to bring my car...alright, so they want me to take time off work, travel 3 hours to go get my car (In outskirts of Toronto), take it to the dealership, bring it back from the dealership, travel 3 hours back home (in Downtown), just because they screwed up the refinishing job on my rims... (sum: 1 day pay loss, 7-8 hours of travelling because they screwed up the first time)
My response: No way, Al suggested I call him tomorrow morning and speak with the District Service rep to have something resolved...
July 20th Update: After calling the dealership about 6 times yesterday, I talked to Niki, the Service Manager, he told me to bring the car back they would give me some "loaner rims and tires" and send my rims out for refinishing...yet again...hopefully this time they will do a "factory quality" job on them...
July 22nd Update: Went to the Dealership, Al tells me that they will be replacing my rims!! yay *After being there about an hour Al comes out and tells me that they will need to give me a loaner car and that they will be refinishing them.. im like WTF? *What happend to replacing them, I want them replaced. *So he tells me that he will call the DS... something (District dude) on Monday and see what he can do...right after one of the service dudes is trying to argue with me that a refinished rim is of better quality then a factory rim...once again WTF!?
Meanwhile: Some guy with a modded 3 was arguing with the Service guys that his Rotors shouldn't wear out after 31000 km. *The service guys are telling him that the caliper paint he put on more then a year ago has caused his rotors to go through more stress due to the heat buildup due to the paint... and so its not covered under warranty. *They also said painting the calipers voids the whole warranty...finally WTF?!
July 24th: Niki, the service manager, will speak to the District dude again voicing my concerns that a refinishing job isn't as good as factory wheels...and will email me by the 26th...
July 25th: District dude is now on holidays! Great! Should hear from him on Monday
August 2nd: New Rims are in, Booked an appt for 8am on Friday to have them put on!
August 4th: Got my new Rims put on, they took two hours to do it and left black grease all over the edges of the rims, but atleast its done!
*Rims look good! yay!
Through a GB on TM3 I got 4 General Exclaim 215/45/17s...as I said above, when they were putting them on it turns out one was mismatching...It was a Uniroyal 215/40/17 Rainsport 1, supposedly the General Exclaims and the Rainsport 1s are the same tire, made in the same factory, the General Exclaim is sold in N/A and the Uniroyal Rainsport 1 is sold in Europe, so somehow this European tire wound up in my hands.
The distributor has been shipped the wrong one and nobody noticed since it was the same tread. *Within 1 week the groupbuy organizer, John (great guy!), was able to give me another General Exclaim (it had to be ordered in) to swap, then I was to give the old Uniroyal Rainsport 1 back to him.
So no problem, just a simple mix-up, I will go get the new tire mounted and balanced and take the old tire back...BUT WAIT...THERES MORE!
Overall Satisfaction: 8.5/10
*Comment: Manufactures fault, not a big deal...should have been checked at Distributor, GB person should have checked, I should have checked, was resolved quickly, John is an awesome guy! *But still took an extra 2 hours of my time and riding on a different size tire...*iffy*
RIMS PART 2
I take the tire to a shop called STEELCASE tires'n'mags inc, seemed nice on the phone, pretty big shop, not your little mom and pop store... (not too many mom's with an auto repair store but still!)
First off, when I got there, I was getting alot of attitude because I think they all of a sudden got really busy and the guys at the front were frustrated...within about 15-20 minutes things got pretty quiet and everyone was happy again, I drove my car around back and one of the guys jacked it up (no bays??), took the Uniroyal wheel/tire off.
So he takes it to the tire "taker offer" machine and he clamps something, I guess to pry the tire off, so the thingy goes between the tire and the rim and pulls it off of the rim and starts to go "around the rim" peeling the rubber off the rim, after about 2", it slipped and I saw the "metal clamp" go in towards the center of the rim and it looked like it scraped the rim but I had a hard time seeing since the dude was in the way. *About 10 seconds later the dude is like, "could you go stand over there for safety reasons", I was just thinking to myself maybe it was my imagination or maybe I didn't see right, how could this be happening...?
So 10 minutes later he brings my old tire out and just hands the greasy thing to me, doesn't even offer to bag it or put it in the car, getting my dress shirt a bit dirty...not a BIG deal... then 2 minutes later he brings my wheel out like nothing happend and starts to put it back on the car.
I notice something funny and say "whats all this, that wasn't there when you took the wheel off.
Between two of the spokes, 1" from the edge was a 1"x4" square/oval shape with a large area of "refinishing paint" missing as well as deep scratches. *and along one of the spokes were "deep indents and scrapes"
So the dude says: Maybe it was curb rash...I was like, unless a curb juts out and somehow magically I hit that portion within a fraction of a second at a stand still and the curb then proceeded to attack my rim, that cant have happend.
The sub-manager, Steve, comes out and they are trying to argue with me and then finally he agrees that something happend and tries to split the repair, 50/50, kept arguing and eventually he agreed to put my tire on a black full size steel rim, and have my alloy rim refinished free of charge.
Overall Satisfaction: 7.5/10
*Comment: They tried to deny the damage and blame it on the prior dealer refinishing job, but eventually gave in...we will see next week how their refinishing job is (sent to another shop). -- Final resolution was good, +1 for the awesome refinishing job, +.5 for the free lug replacement.
July 18 Update: My Rim is in...going to get it swapped on Saturday.
July 22 Update: They swapped my rims and gave me some 21mm lugs free of charge rather then the 19mm lugs which I previously had on my car...Dave the manager was kind enough to point this out to me and suggest that I change them incase I had to swap a tire on the highway or something...the wrench in my trunk (std. mazda 21mm) wouldn't fit. *So that was awesome. *The refinishing job that they did was A+ and they didn't just do the face, they did the whole rim...it looked ALMOST brand new... (from a place called Precision Rim Repair or something).
ANGEL EYES, H.I.Ds
I got some Angel Eyes, took them to Lockdown Enterprises to have them installed. *Lockdown did an awesome job...just my luck that something went wrong.
- I had them install my Angel Eyes and re-wire my H.I.Ds and Indep. Fogs.
- Angel Eyes switch was wired to Always on instead of On with Ignition (wrong wire - no biggie, 5 minute fix)
- Both H.I.D. Ballasts stopped working shortly after (tested with another ballast, lights work fine...so def. ballasts went bad)
- 1 Angel Eye Ballast stopped working after a few days.
Devin who I got the Angel Eyes from is doing everything he can to get me a new Ballast ASAP.
Oliver and Xtec on the other hand... I sent them FULL payment for a new kit after trying to get an answer from Oliver for 1 and a half weeks and having to call Jim long distance and it has yet to ship out!

Friday June 30th, Old Kit fails - sent Oliver an email explaining my problems
Thursday July 6th, shipped old kit to Xtec - I pay $20 to ship back their defective product.
Tuesday July 11th, spoke with Jim over the phone, conclusion: sent 434.60 USD to Oliver for a new kit, supposed to be shipped Wed or Thurs.
Thursday July 13th, reply to email I sent Jim: Jim says they were backlogged, just recieved ballasts, will ship Friday morning.
Friday July 14th, FedEx delivers my old kit to Xtec, no news from Xtec about new kit being shipped.
Saturday July 15th, Jim sends an email to Leif asking to check if my old kit has arrived and ship a new kit to me.
Monday July 17th, No word from anyone, I called and spoke with Leif, he assured me that it would be shipped that night or Tuesday morning and he would send me an email, Jim was somewhere on the other side of the world.
Tuesday July 18th, sent an email to [email protected]
and Leif, no word back from anyone so far yet today. Called Leif at Xtec, he told me that it hadn't been shipped but he was in the process of doing when I called, I would be getting a tracking number as soon as it shipped.
Wednesday July 19th, no tracking number yet...sent another email to [email protected]
and Leif requesting the status of my refund and the new kit.
Thursday July 20th, called Leif in the morning, there was supposedly some confusion about the money I had sent them for a new kit to have the process expedited...cleared that up...
--- Called again in the evening when I hadn't recieved a tracking number and Leif told me he was on his way to the post office...
Friday July 21st, USPS finally indicates that the package was Accepted on July 20th in Oceanside CA (only 9 days after I sent payment...not too bad :x ) *Still no word from Oliver about the refund (which should be $386.90 USD - [email protected]
Sunday July 22nd, No word about the refund yet...
Monday July 24th, Oliver issued the refund, I was supposed to be refunded 389.90USD as far as I can tell (according to Jim @ Xtec), Oliver refunded me 321.00USD, so I am still out a bit of money...almost there!!!
Wednesday July 26th, Jim is in China until August 1st, Oliver is going to clarify with him and then get back to me... So I should start a bet, how long will this take, Paypal me your bets on the date

August 2nd, Still haven't heard from Oliver regarding the refund, after speaking with several Customs Officers it turns out that the tracking number had changed, which is why Canada Post couldn't trace it...Also turns out that they didn't mark it as a replacement and didn't write the cost of repair and so I now owe $46.96CAD in duties....

August 4: *Oliver sent me a payment for the amount of the customs fees as well as a refund for the remainder of the balance of my deposit. I also got my Angel Eye ballast and Xtec kit installed today, although the spacers seemed to be missing, Lockdown did something and made them fit.

*Comment: Oliver takes forever to answer, Sent him first email June 30th, Sent Payment for a new Kit July 11th, Shipped July 20th. They also do not cover return shipping to them
First off, it took forever for Pracing to get the springs in, they were avail. locally for only $20 more but I wanted to save a bit of money and support the M3F sponsors so I placed an order with them.
Prob. #1: Took a VERY long time after the GB started to get the springs in.
Prob. #2: I was told they would ship via. USPS thus resulting in no Customs and Brokerage fees coming into Canada, instead they were shipped by UPS. Pracing offered to refund half of the fees which UPS charged...and told me that they shipped UPS due to the "increase in weight...magically" I guess they didn't bother to see WHY they increased in weight.
Prob. #3: I recieved them, took them to a good installer in the area and they told me after taking my stock springs out that they cant fit the Tein springs in my car and that they look funny. *They charged me $30 which is fair for the 20 minutes that 2 guys spent taking apart my car but I feel like I should be reimbursed that $30 by Tein for their screw up.
Prob. #4: After posting in the GB thread, turns out 3 other people had recieved the wrong springs as well (in a box marked Mazda3 straight from Tein), We got Ford Mustang Springs. *Tein is not answering, Pracing has nothing to say...nothing is being done...and it has been almost a week.

*Comment: Pracing is unable to give us an answer, Tein is not giving very good customer service and not quickly resolving the issue, im out $30CAD for the install and $200CAD for the springs which aren't even for my car.
July 18: Tein called me this evening, they are going to ship the correct springs to me right away, no hassle...overall satisfaction upgraded to a 4.5, going to talk to them about getting my $30 back for the install charges... (sent them an e-mail about the $30 and the tracking/shipping method used...I dont want to pay more for customs fees...
July 20: Called Tein again, they told me that they recieved a container today and weren't able to ship them? *But will be shipping them tomorrow.
July 21: ...no luck on getting my $30 refunded, no tracking number recieved today
July 24: Emailed Tein twice about getting my tracking number, they gave it to me today, they did infact ship on the 21st.
July 26: Looks like they were delivered, I can't say for sure as I wont be home until Friday, going to check um out and get them installed on Saturday!
August 4: Finally got them installed, looks good! *
Ordered a Red/Black, recieved a Blue/Black, maybe I dont remember right...but in Paypal I wrote Red/Black (in the Jacket GB)
Edit: Kodiac 3 replied, looks like I did order a red/black... so it wasn't just me making a typo, this does infact have to do with my car ...or me... being cursed...

*Comment: Although it did take 3+ months to get my jacket, and it did wind up being blue/black instead of red/black, and it was a tiny bit small, (due to odd foriegn sizing - I think i missed the post about this) I would have never gotten it without Kodiac and he never dissapeared on us when something went bad like some other GB organizers/vendors. *He is also offering some sort of compensation in the next GB, which is awesome.
