NBA Thread Version 06-07 *Official*

To start off the NBA 06/07 thread, what better way than to say that Ben Wallace officially agreed to a 4yr/$60mil contract with the Bulls in what is the biggest free agent signing so far. Also, Peja went to the Hornets, Sam I Am stayed in Cliptown, Vladmir Radmanovic went to the Lakers, and the 4 first picks of the 03 rookie class all re-upped for their teams (Lebron, melo, wade, bosh most likely)

Re: NBA Thread version 06-07 *Official*

Naw, Jason Terry staying with the Mavs was the best news. Bulls will still get bounced in the first round next year (Tyson Chandler + Ben Wallace = Lose even with lots of rebounds).

I also think the Charlie V for TJ Ford trade is huge. It makes both the Bucks and the Raptors suck. I feel sorry for Mike James.... he's always in a backcourt clusterf*ck... and the Bucks didn't need another wimpy PF that likes to shoot the trey. Why they sought to replace Kukoc with Charlie baffles me. They need a true PG... Redd and MoWill are both 2 guards.

Agreed with the 2nd half of your statement. Bucks needed Ford much more than they needed Villanueva, they already have too many bigs in Kukoc, All Star Jamaal Magloire and Andrew Bogut. Also a bad move for the Raptors, they needed Villanueva much more in their front court than they needed Ford. Villanueva is a huge talent, both inside and out, and i will say it again that Villanueva will be a stud in this league, im just not sure it was a good trade for either team.

The Ben Wallace deal will make certain the fact that the Bulls will now be the best defensive taem in the NBA. They already were very very good, now they will be the best. I think they will go deep into the playoffs this year after dealing Chandler and getting PJ Brown to work the PF/C. Then next year, they will have even MORE cap room!

I think everyone knew Jason Terry was stayin with the Mavs, how could he not after goin to the finals with them this year?

i cant believe Wallace left Detroit. he's going to make the Bulls that much better.

Nocioni, Kirk, Gordon, Deng, Ben....i bet you Chicago will be the best defending team in the league next season.

Re: NBA Thread version 06-07 *Official*

this thread is official 'cause it has *official* written on it *I think the NBA will fine Quick $100,000 for violating their trademark policy

Aahhh, while I agree PJ Brown is a good, steady veteran, I don't think he'll help the bulls. *The guy is almost 40... and has no offense. *All he can do is shoot free throws and jockey around for boards. *He's very slow though... at least Tyson is young and athletic. Of course, Chandler can't hit a free throw to save his life, so maybe both of them are liabilities.

I am still miffed that the Spurs succeeded in offloading Rasho and getting Matt Bonner from the Raptors. *Bonner was the guy I wanted the Mav's to get.... young, can shoot a jumper, solid rebounder, and can hit free throws. *The guy is about as athletic as a drunk Shawn Bradley, but he's still better than Rasho. Freakin' Spurs.

I don't think the Bulls can take it to the next level with Kirk and Gordon. You need a guy who can command the ball and lead on the floor. I went to KU - I know Hinrich has talent, but he's always flakey come crunch time and seems to make very random attempts when he's harried. Gordon is a athletic wonder, but he's not the leader-type either.

I wish Wallace went to the Mav's ... imagine how good they'd be without Dampier sucking it up in the middle and instead had Wallace
