Anybody here play MLB '06 online?

Yeah, I'm bored and wondering if anybody plays this game over the 'net.

Funny story; I was using Mark Redman about 2 weeks ago and I pitched 7 shutout innings. The other guy was like "who the hell is Redman" and I said "he's a frickin' All Star mang..." ... except I was joking but it turns out it's not a joke

I'm now 4-0 using the Royals and Redman. The guy is a K-machine. KC is the best team in the majors.

I'm actually considering picking up a baseball game for my PS2. Is MLB '06 the best one out?

Man, more people need to play this game.

I think MLB '06 has the best online environment... EA Sports online has too many wacko's..... i usually get a good game on MLB'06 online.

Oh, and A-Rod is seriously overrated in all baseball games.

wow, I just played Twins vs Detroit.... it was 2-2 through 8 innings and then I cranked a solo homer... it's like mirroring the game tonite!

Re: Anybody here play MLB '06 online?

i like it because it's simple, pretty, and fun. pitching is pretty much just right... you can really get into pitching duels with aces, or get hammered left and right if you go with the 4/5 guys in a rotation and aren't careful. What i like is that even with careful pitching, you can turn a sorry pitcher into a great one. That's why I love using Mark Redman.

Hitting is fun - you just use the left stick to aim in the zone and hit (X) to swing. There's no garbage with flicking your thumb or anything weird. It's very fun to just pickup and play.

Online play is very good - has a few bugs, but you can just play a game with someone really fast and it's a blast. I think, 95% of my online games turn out as good experiences. By "good experience" I don't mean that I won. I've lost close games and not felt cheated by lag or lame opponents. I mean, there are the occaisional flukes where you play punks... but those games are few and far between.

Re: Anybody here play MLB '06 online?

omg, I just had the best game evar online...

Me: Card's (Weaver) vs. Other Dude: Cubs (Zambrano) at Wrigley...

I went up 2 runs in the second.* Then in the bottom of the second, Ramierez jacked my slider to drive in 3 runs * Taguchi knocked a triple and drove in one the 5th next inning.* I gave up 3 singles and 1 run in the 7th and was down 3-4 in the top of the ninth.

2 out... Spiezio pokes a single up the middle.* I thought the other guy was going to walk Pujols ... I mean, I'd walk Pujols even if there were a runner on first and second.* But, the guy thought Dempster was a righty so it was a good matchup.* He tosses 3 really bad pitches, but then puts a curve in for a strike.* Now it's 3-1... and he drops another curve in the zone... like that thing went 460 feet to dead center.* Ownaged.

In the bottom of the ninth... I get 2 quick Ks with Isringhausen.* But then Izzy does what he normally does and just starts to SSUUUCCCKKK.* His cutter drops to like 90mph and gets smashed for a double.* Then I can't get a pitch across and it's now runners on first and second (Cedeno).* I wanted to pull Izzy, but the other dude left Juan Pierre in to bat.* I figure the guy has no power... I'll pitch to the guy.* Man, Izzy sucks.* He hangs his goddamn slider and Pierre pulls it down first.*

Encarnación come up... and puts a laser down to home plate... i get the guy by about 1/2 steps.

MLB 06 is totally the awesomest game evar.
