PSP Dead/Stuck pixel question

So i picked up a PSP from Walmart, liked it significantly more than the DS Lite... Wow, Syphon Filter ROCKS

But, the one i got had no less than 10 stuck and dead pixels all over the edges of the display, with one cluster of stuck ones in the middle. So i returned it.

Went to CC yesterday and picked it up (with a pricematch to Brandsmart USA) for $176

Brought it home, no stuck pixels, YEA! Until about 20 mins, when 1 pixel right near the damn center is now stuck green. On busy screens, you don't notice it, but when its loading and during cut scenes during the game, its REALLY noticable.

Should i bother returning it? Is this the best im gonna get?

That's not the worst case I've ever heard of, but you should exchange it if you can. Mine has two dead pixels right near the bottom, and I barely ever notice them.

there is a video somewhere you can dowload that flashes black and white for like 20 minutes, it suppose to get rid of stuck pixels. No clue if it really works but give it a shot

Re: PSP Dead/Stuck pixel question

i recall a memo by sony stating that they'd only honor returns on screens with more than 6 pixels... or something weird. Personally, I've never seen a psp screen that could display all colors on all pixels. Every single one I've see has at least one pixel that cannot display a particular color (you can test this by loading images into the picture viewer that are only specific solid shades of R G and B ... and black, white, and 50% grey).

I wouldn't bother returning it unless you can find a 1.50 psp

I actually made some images specifically for PSPs to test for them just like these. It's kinda funny because I managed to find a dead pixel on my monitor when I was making them.

OP: If you want these images, send me a PM with your email and I'll send them over to ya.
