got a chance to drive the new 2006 mz6

my car is back in the dealership, because they need to install a new remote module for the new software to stop the 1st-2nd shift shock... anyways...

They gave me a brand new (literally brand new, only had 50miles when i drove it out) 2006 Mazda6 2.3liter... it has the new 5spd auto. I dont know if the ECU is trying to learn how i drive, or if it's just the way the 5spd auto was designed, but the upshifts are VERY abrupt. Just when i think i'm going somewhere, it upshifts and kills the power. Also, the car is quite sluggish which is understandable, mz6 is nearly 300pounds heavier than a mz3. Also, the manual shift feature is on the right side, which was kind of weird coming from mz3.

The suspension is typical Mazda, stiffer than its competitors. But not as stiff as mz3, and this car understeers a lot. Still, this car can outhandle Accords and Camrys (dont know about the new 07 Camrys) hands down. The brakes are not as impressive as mz3. It's almost as if Mazda paid more attention to driving experience in the mz3, and paid more attention to comfort in mz6.

Oh yeah, AC is great on this car... DAMN YOU MAZDA! haha
