Best L.A. beach?

Hey everybody. I have never been to Los Angeles and me and my fiance are going in August for a day trip from Vegas and were just wanting to know the best and easiest to get to spot to take a dip in the ocean. We will be there on a weekday and do not want to miss the chance to swim in the pacific. THANKS

If you look for the bad in people expecting to find it, you surely will.

Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Corona Del Mar are the best beaches IMO. You can go to Santa Monica too, it has the sweetest shopping/pier, but the beach itself is dirty

Re: Best L.A. beach?

^^Thanks. Is there anything else that is a must see while there? We are planning to do a drive through on areas like hollywood and the such. Is there places we just have to stop and see to to get the full effect? Thanks again for any information. We want to make the best of our day in L.A.

Re: Best L.A. beach?

i suggest buying a Steve Nash/Shawn Marion Phoenix Suns jersey and rocking it all over L.A.

anyways, L.A got some awesome eats, fast and sit down. and you're coming from Ohio (not putting down Ohio) so the scenery and environment itself will put you and your wife in a state of ecstasy. SoCal's a beautiful place. could never live there but it's beautiful.

Theres a few places in the Irvine area. South Coast Mall is a massive and very expensive mall on the 405 freeway. (its the Bristol street exit) If you want to visit some exclusive stores like versace, thats the place to go. Another nice place to walk around is the Block, which is in Santa Ana right off the I-5 freeway. Umm... theres also the Irvine Spectrum, which is another massive shopping area, its off the 405/I-5, you cant miss it (you will see the big wheel ride thing from the freeway).

Definately check out Long Beach as well. The aquarium there is massive and its real cool. That is off the 710 freeway.

The Ghetty Center is a massive museum/architectural masterpiece. That is about 2 miles north of Wilshire Blvd. on the 405 freeway. You might have to get tickets in advance, so look into that as well.

Oh and big slick, if yo wanna throw out a lame comment, at least spell Shawn Marion's name right.

If you're going to Hollywood, you might just wanna go to Venice beach. It'll be closer than Newport...and you will get to see some interesting sites and people there, plus you've probably seen venice beach a lot in movies, so you might want a nice pic from there...

everyone else's suggestions are great too (I surf Huntington, Newport, San Onofre and Laguna, and live in Long Beach), but if you only have one day to see as much as possible....Venice beach might be the ticket.

Definitely Laguna Beach and South Laguna. It is beautiful with very clean water and sand. It is a good 1-hour drive from LA but so totally worth it.

Re: Best L.A. beach?

The best beaches are the ones with people with no clothes on! Europe is full of them...
There has to be at least on in LA area, can anybody inform us?

Blacks Beach in San Diego is the only full on nude one around open to the public, that I know of...
