Moms in the market for a new car

Hey all, my moms in the market for a new car to purchase in the next month or two. Her BMW 745 Li's lease is up, and shes lookin for a car or SUV in the $50-65k range. I suggested to her the Lexus GS430, Acura RL/TL (she doesnt like the fact that the RL is kinda small inside), and my dad wants her to get either BMW X5 or BMW 5 series.

I want her to get the Lexus GS430 becuase i sat in one and it was absolutely amazing. The guage cluster looks awesome, seats were comfy, interior looks very refined, and the car's drive was top knotch for a very comfortable price. I also suggested an Acura because i love how they handle and i love the workmanship on those cars.

I, however, do not want my mom to get the BMW X5 becuase that vehicle just does not impress me. I think it looks ugly and so does my mom. Only reason its being considered is becuase my dad is paying the bills and he gets a huge tax writeoff for buying that. My mom would avoid it if possible. Opinions on the X5 would be appreciated.

The other car we were lookin at was the BMW 5 Series. I would rather her get the GS430 over the BMW just becuase i dont like the iDrive system after using it for 3 years, and she also dont like the fact that we were doing frequent maintenance on the 7 series, and i feel its going to be similar for the 5 series as well.

Whats your thoughts on this guys? My choices are like this: 1. GS430, 2. Acura RL, 3. Acura TL, 4. BMW 5 Series... 10. BMW X5

What can you guys say about her choices? (just looking for opinions here)

E-Class Benz with the CDI.* It's bitchin'. I checked one out today when I was looking at a C350..... it gets 27/37 mpg and it is hella nice inside. Not as fast as a BMW 7 or as blatantly huge like a Porsche cayenne or X5, but still, nice. S-class still wins for big saloon cars.

Re: Moms in the market for a new car

question: What the heck is your mom doing with a car that she thinks a RL is too small on the inside? You guys road-tripping? or does she drive around lots of people for some random reason? The whole point of getting a large saloon car is to have others drive you around... or if you just want to show off that you have $$$.

Ive long since stopped trying to understand my mom's logic, however she does need the room since she still has 3 daughters to take around town (ones 15, ones 11 and ones 1)... and if they all want to go together in the car with my dad, then yea their going to need room for 5.
