Looking for a Planetside substitute

I was wondering if any of you had ever played Planetside...that game was insane until everyone quit playing. Are there any other massive-multiplayer online games that are similar? Where you operate Mechs, Vehicles, and Aircraft against other people? I've been playing WoW for a few years now, and I miss Planetside!

So to reiterate, any other game out there even come close to the Planetside environment?

Re: Looking for a Planetside substitute

After doing a little research, it doesn't look like there is much out there for MMOFPS games right now, until some game in late 2006. REALLY sux that Planetside never caught on...it had a few issues but nothing was cooler than teaming up with 10 friends and hotdropping out of a Galaxy into an enemy base with full aircraft support. I hope someday another game will come out that can give me that feeling back.

i wasn't a fan but for right now, your kinda out of luck for MMOFPS. The one I think your looking at is Huxley. It's based off the Unreal3 engine and from what I've seen of it, your gonna need a killer rig to play it. If your looking at Sci-Fi PVP, RF Online just came out, but its a grind game with only per 8-hour PVP wars, and really won't suit your needs.

Re: Looking for a Planetside substitute

I was just reading up on Planetside, and discovered that a couple of days ago they opened the game up for free for a year...you can go up to BR6 and CR2. I think I'll give it another try and see if there's enough people online still for me to renew my membership.

Re: Looking for a Planetside substitute

Downloaded Planetside again yesterday and I was very happy to see that there is still a ton of people playing it. I've already gotten my char to BR6, which is where it maxes out if you join the "Reserves", which is how you can play for free for a year. It took like an hour and a half to DL the game and all the stupid updates, but it was well worth it!
