Scion TC cut me off!

I am so pissed, I was at the stop light and I accelerated at an average acceleration and then a new white Scion TC went WOT next to me and I could see that he was trying to pass me. (Which he did pass me because I ended up getting off the gas wondering wtf he is doing)

After I got off the throttle, he cut me off and flashed his blinkers.

It was seriously the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen, we were between two lights and we were going to have to stop soon which is why I got off the gas. My top speed was literally like 50mph and I rolled into a slow start.

It’s one thing to see a nice vette go fast off the line and make me look like I'm standing still… It’s completely another thing to have some guy act like he’s racing me when I am just trying to go back to work from lunch.

He just gave SC TC a bad name in my book because had he wanted to race on the street and in traffic, which is just plain stupid, he isn’t supposed to stop his car at the light 5 feet behind mine, and then act all “sneaky” like he’s able to pass me either… hehe

It didn’t even have a license plate on the Scion yet, and it was a young caucasian male with sunglasses in his late teens…

I don’t know… Either I should have given gas and not let him pass me like that, or I should have accelerated super slow like one of those Ferraris in the slow lane, so that he just wouldn’t have bothered…

This happen to anyone?

The TC is a good car... And I'm not saying my 06 3S GT is faster... I'm just pissed that I got cut off by somebody racing me, when I'm trying to drive normal... I wonder if it makes them more manly?

Seriously...

There are no drag rules for the street brakeman simply because you arn't supposed to be racing. I appreciate the sarcasm though...

I suppose if I got my jollies out of racing my 16 second commuter on the street, I'd have followed the drag racing rules and launched myself from the get go knowing the TC would try to cut me off.

The bottom line is I'm wondering how many of you are getting street raced against your will?

This happened a lot on my R6 and I thought It would be over after becoming a cager...

I don't think anyone has ever forced me to race against my will.

I just let them cut me off. Let the cops nab him and be on your way. Let him wreck his car and you can smile happily as you pass him. No use in me trying to fight with them on the road.

And what is a cager?

cager

n : an athlete who plays basketball [syn: basketball player, basketeer]

heh, jk...means you drive a car, and not ride a bike on the street..

usually used as an insult toward sterotyped women in SUVs, or other careless drivers

Re: Scion TC cut me off!

Must be local slang or I'm just too old to know what it means.

So anyone out there in the world who drives a car is a cager? LOL. I've never heard that word until today.

Re: Scion TC cut me off!

pretty much but its not always an insult...

for example: some people will refer to themselves as bike riders, also being a cager when they use cars

how do i know this? cause i read bike forums...well i used to, stopped cause i wanted a bike so bad but cant afford one being 18

Re: Scion TC cut me off!

A cager is a term often used in the sportbike forums... *A cager is anyone in a car, basically because you have a cage around you to protect you, thus you are a little more agressive in the way you drive, especially around bikers, who are basically unprotected.

Squid is another term and it's generally for bikers who like to wear sandals and t-shirts, who will need skin grafts if they ever go down... *hehe, kinda like a squid driving a motorcycle... they tend to ride gixxers which are the Suzuki sport bikes lol... * *I was never a squid and would always wear full gear and even mesh pants over my jeans and riding boots!

Anyways, on my 05 Yamaha R6, I've had huge trucks do burns out next to me and it would scare the crap out of me on my bike. *I've also had camaros blow by me while I'm going 80mph hoping to get me to give them a run. *Civics with loud exhausts would do it too for some reason. *I've even had an old man in a mini-van roll down his window as ask me if I wanted to race... Not to mention a california highway patrol motorcycle officer pulled up beside me and he said "I bet you think you're faster than me huh?"... *I shook my head no, and I glady let him beat me. * *lol

Even a 600cc can go 0-100mph in like 6 seconds... *Still, every asshat and redneck wanted to race me and basically put my life at risk each time they did.

I've only raced one person on my bike, and it was my friend who also had a bike and we were on a closed course... *I never did it on streets... *it's just too stupid.
