Man, I wish the Mazdaspeed guys would do what the SRT Guys are doing...

And that is - the SRT guys are actually using the online community to spread buzz about their upcoming SRT4 product

http://www.caliberforums.com/forums/...read.php?t=224

Imagine if you could actually get the engineers who are helping to finalize the Mazdaspeed3 to come in and answer questions about the R&D or business case decisions that went into the car.* I think what Dodge/SRT is doing here is brilliant - a free way to target advertising at the group of buyers most interested in the product that they will sell.

Caliberforums has just 581 total members ( and 263 recently active in the past few days ) and Dodge would even spare the time of their SRT guys (well, it's after hours for Michigan - but it just shows that they care enough to stick around after work) to get that buzz out.* On the otherhand, M3F routinely has 100 members online at any given moment (I think it's within a 30 minute span and I'm not including guests) browsing at one time and Mazda can't even bother themselves to take advantage of a captive audience.

Well, I think the dealers should at least ask the corporate office to start doing initiatives like this. Research shows that online information gathering is more important to a car buying decision for all customers. Granted, a casual Mazda3 shopper may not come to an online forum, but the performance-oriented ones tend to and the Mazdaspeed3 is a performance-enthusiast-targeting-car.

It'll be RWD because of the drifting craze, as well as being a twin-turbo V6. A clutchless 7-speed will be available in '08.

Re: Man, I wish the Mazdaspeed guys would do what the SRT Guys are doing...

Holey keep in mind a casual Mazda owner isnt the target demographic for the MazdaSpeed3. The buyer of that car is someone who is into the import scene. Knows what MazdaSpeed is about and will be very computer literate. Probably a few will be from here(My deposit has been made for 3 months now)... Now given all that it would make sence for the folks from Mazda to promote to us... BTW saw a Caliber at a local
Dodge dealer and I actually like the styling...
