Great Wall of China wraps around the entire world......yea right

thought this was kind of funny, and sad. im sitting in speech class watching a video recorded speech on the Great Wall of China as an example of a concept speech. we had a discussion on the speech and what not afterwards.

there were a few errors in the speech that we had to point out and a kid raised his hand and said, "yea the speaker said the Great Wall of China is 4,000 somethin miles. doesn't it wrap around the whole world?" i shit you not.

man i was dying inside. i thought about the situation twice. is this kid being serious or is he joking? he was as serious as serious goes lol.

by the way, the Great Wall of China is a little over 3000 miles. not even 1/5 of the length of the world. some people say it's the longest man-made project however we have interstates that go from california to nyc. it's just the fact that the chinese built something of that size during the same time period as Shakespeare that's so extraordinary and beyond comprehendible.

I love how people spew the myth that the Great Wall is the only man-made object visible from space without even bothering to apply a penny's worth of common sense...

Re: Great Wall of China wraps around the entire world......yea right

I think the myth is that it's the only man-made object visible from the surface of the moon. But yeah, I still have my doubts about that.

The only man-made object you can see from space is Rosanne Barr.
